Thanks Duffis :) Nope stickin to it, I honestly don't. Last time I quit for a yr and 4 mos without one slip, not one puff and I relapsed. Who's to say what it takes for each of us as individuals to quit for good? Some do gr8 and some never do & die. I have not one regret b/c it's only made me want to quit more and that desire has to be there and it wasn't before the slip. I don't know why u want me to beat myself up, lol, it wouldn't help if I did.
I made it through a few cravings today with flying colors and very happy to be smoke-free.
So stickin to it, is this your 1st quit? What's your story?
Enough pointing the finger at me cuz there's 3 pointing back at u :)
I'm in a good mood and happy after a very hard long 6 day struggle.

I guess I qualify for an "oldie" in response to your question; I quit and never looked back. For me it took a dedicated reason to quit and I gave it about 30 days planning before I actually quit. Over the past two and a half years I came close one time and that was when Pete made her first solo landing on water. I didn't smoke but I sure peeeeeeeeeeed myself and that was that. I don't even think about it any more and I guess I am blessed that way. Keep the faith Cherie you really can do this, it just takes patience, dedication and caring.

You ought to have regrets some, else you will find it easy to smoke again. Realize your sucesses for a job well done. Little at a time, easy as you go, keep it up. You deserve a reward tonight for all that you have been through and congratulations on 28 days.

Since I'm an addict I can be anal lol and in being accurate before I reset my meter I had 600 not smoked so I subtracted 40 cig's but only smoked 6. To keep my meter accurate I should add a day and 3/4, lol. That's not what's really important though. What's important is the journey of life. And I don't regret my past nor last night, at all. I wouldn't be as committed to quit as I am today if it weren't for last night or my quit a yr ago or the one in 1999 for that matter, lol. I would not be who I am today if not for my past and even though I had a really tough emotional week, I am proud of myself for my 11yrs sober and for not smoking 594 cig's in the last 30 days. One can only fail if they don't try. I am far from a failure.
Would love to hear from the oldies but goodies on this site in regards to this thread :)

It is whatever you would like it to be. You are the boss, at the wheel and in control. Personally I never like looking back so just try really, really hard to stay quit and post often.

Ain't my first rodeo! I slipped at the beginning & reset my meter to subtract the 2 days I smoked. If I were to slip now, I would feel that I had to set it back to 0. I can't really explain why. I just feel that at 85 days, a slip is different than it is at 5 days and has to be treated differently.
Your meter is yours, it's up to you what you do with it.

I would really like to know who's on there 100% very 1st time quiting?
And also, how many people in here have slipped (even a couple puffs), during this quit that they're in right now?
Who slipped and didn't reset their meter back to 0?
Step right up :)
I'm doing my best & being honest every step of the way & out of 566 cig's I've smoked 6 and not smoked 560. And I set my meter back 2 days which is my choice, btw :)
Ok your turn to moon everyone with the bold face truth :) LOL
