I like you too Stickin, As a fairly new (45 days that seems like months) quitter. I was looking up to the members with big numbers on their meter. Then all these little slips started from what seemed to me to be repeat offenders. I'm new at this but it seems to me if I lost my quit I would just fade into cyber space and when or if I joined a stop smoking site again I would change my name. I think everyone here is smart enough to know what happened without graphic detail. You will be seeing me around for awhile. I plan to keep my quit and ignore the repeat slippers. I appreciate you too Stickin. As for the questions, I am sad for a longterm quitter who stumbles or fails - but it reminds me that I can choose what I do each day, and it can have tremendous effect. As you know I have come here many times after I lost a quit. Some here were wonderful and kept supporting me and other left. Each of us are responsible for our quits and relapses. I only hope that I have learned not to judge anothers' quit or relapse. But I do believe that if you return and really want to quit you have to live in the solution and not the problem. With each relaspe I learned a little more about me and this awful addiction. Does another's relaspe bother me, yes. Can I do anything about it NO. Oh yes, I can and do pray for them. What tripped me up in the early days was when someone would smoke and post that they did and not change their meter. You know what, finally I have learned it is their choice. I am not going to fall for that trap any longer. NOPE means just that for this quitter. Today I did not smoke and tomorrow when it come I will recomitt to not smoke. Soultions, use them they work. Seeing a long term quitter relapse is very sad, but it DOES NOT affect my personal determination in any way whatsoever. Those who play with fire sometimes get burned. NOPE is the only way to go! 1) doesn't effect my quit, because it is my quit, nobody elses, and i take responsibility for my actions. But, it is annoying when people choose to smoke and then broadcast it in detail. I don't need to hear the step by step process of their smoking. I have questions . When a longer term quitter stumbles or fails does that affect your personal detemination to remain smoke free? If yes how and if no why? Second question: Are you stickin tired of the stickin character: a) stickin has not helped me and should be fired. b) stickin needs to get off his high horse and leave the hay to Mr Ed c) stickin has helped me to remain smoke free.
