Way to go tryagain! It may be taking a toll on your teeth but think of all the other things that are getting better (your lungs, blood pressure). I for one am proud of you, keep chugging along and the battle will be yours. What about eating fruit - especially oranges? It gives you something to do with your hands and is obviously good for you. Just a thought... Yes. A strange journey and, at times, a seemingly very long one but take it from me, it's worth it. It's not easy all the time but eventially you see all the things that are better about being a non-smoker. Sorry about the teeth. No doubt you'll get lots of advice from others on more nutricious and less damaging substitutes. Good luck. This is the second day of no nic at all. NONE. No NRT. Will I won't I be able to maintain without running to the store to get a new supply of gum? So far, looks like yes but that could change. Yesterday I went through three packages of sugarfree chewing gum and an entire tin of hard candies. Expense wise, I'd have been better off with cigarettes or the most expensive NRT that is out there. It was also the longest day since day one of my quit. I have loosened several fillings, a couple of them actually come out. I have to go next month to have them fixed, IF, IF I can afford it. Quitting smoking might very well end up being more expensive than continuing to smoke. Truly it is taking a toll on my teeth that I did not take into consideration when I first quit. What a strange journey this is.
