Try dwelling on the positive, instead. Keep top of mind that you feel, look & smell better, that you are adding to your life, that you can do things now you couldn't before. Like anything in life, quitting is so much easier & more fun if you stay positive about it & look for the good! I don't know if you call it dwelling but I still get craves and I stop and think about what caused it like this a.m. after I got the kitchen cleaned wouldn't it be nice to smoke. But no I don't do that so instead I got my coffee and came here for distraction. Looking forward to the new shower gel as soon as dishwasher is done. Stickin~~so very true. Dwelling on anything is not good. We have to move on. Today is 77 days for me. Now that I am here it doesn't seem like it was all that hard. Sorta like labor pains. I know they hurt but the memory fades fast!! I am so glad I don't smoke. I am so glad I found this site to help me stay on the right path and stay nicotine free. I am so glad to call all of you my friends. My quit buddies. Thank you stickin! Dwelling will only make it worse and harder to push forward. Use those coping mechanisms and avoidance techniques to get your mind away from the nicodemon :) Josie, Support Specialist

If you want to quit or stay quit dont smoke. You will find it more tolerable if you DO NOT dwell on the cravings. To dwell makes the cravings perpetually worse. However we know that there are remedies for cravings, known as distractions. Keep yourself distracted using diversions that hold your attention and interest. Remember why you have quit and keep in mind that smoking can cause serious health issues that quite frankly should scare the he** out of you. Ex-smokers arent in agony. Keep moving forward day by day, week by week and take your mind off of it. Your well being depends on it. You can do it! You have to do it!
