I definitely agree with your first paragraph, Unhooked. ;p As for one or the other of the sexes having an easier time... (I just love being able to insert those little guys) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 810 Amount Saved: $157.95 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 35 Seconds: 25

Since you are a woman and women are way smarter, why can't you figure this one out yourself? Ok, ok, I was just kidding. Come on, put the lamp down, please!! :gasp: Women, IMO, operate on a more emotional level and quitting really cranks the emotions up. Men, on the other hand, are programmed to win at all costs. A slip or relapse is a failure, so they "bite the bullet" and continue on. That said, I disagree with you, though. Personally, I feel that women tend to have more successful quits than men, mainly for one reason: they are not too proud to ask for help or to expose what the quit is doing to them so others can support/assist them. Look at the male/female ratio here as an example. And don't try to compare the men vs women here who have slipped and not slipped. The people who come to this support group are their own demographic. They are not representitive of the world's quit population in general simply because they are reaching out for help. This sets the men here apart from the norm especially. Just my experiences and thoughts. U.H. - I don't know about this one. I would say it is equal - I really don't think the sex of the person has anything to do with the quitting process. Have you check it out online to see if you can find any stats?? What about for horses and bears? Well, I mean other than the obvious (that we're way smarter and should always be obeyed without question), of course! Oh, yeah and we don't fart or snore. Anyway... I have long believed & often said that it is generally easier for men to quit smoking than it is for women. I know many more men than women who have quit cold turkey and also many more men who have quit only once & kept it. Some of my friends think I'm out to lunch & some agree with me. What do you guys think? If you do believe that one or the other has an easier time of it, why do you think that is?
