I have SUCH mixed feelings about this issue. On the one hand, this is a quit smoking site. Tryagain has quit smoking and she has repeatedly said she does not intend to smoke and it appears to me that she is trying very hard to save her quit in any way that she can. We always say "do whatever it takes...just don't smoke", don't we? On the other hand, the addiction is so complex. Yes, we are addicted to smoking. And, yes, we are addicted to nicotine. And perhaps, we are also addicted to this site, and to argument, and to judgement, and to thinking that we have the answers. As I said, I have such mixed feelings. I wish tryagain the very best. Tryagain, I just can not understand why you would put nicotine back into your body, you will never stop craving as long as you feed the addiction and that is exactly what you are doing. I hope you are able to see this and you stop if not I don't think it will be long before you find an excuse to start smoking again, I hope I am totally wrong about this but whatever good luck. tryagain, This may seem harsh but I just want to point out some facts. Take what you want and leave the rest. FACT: You quit smoking 280 days ago (as your meter reflects). Question: Why are you still on NRT? FACT: NRT is helpful when used in accordance with the instructions. Question: Have you traded one addiction for another? FACT: Each time you put nicotine back into your system, you are starting the withdrawal symptoms all over again. Question: Why would you want to continue to do that this far into your quit? FACT: Your husband concured with your addicted mind about your excuse to put NRT back into your system again. Question: Did this really make you feel better? Tryagain is your name but the name of this game is to quit an addiction to nicotine. Is it easy? I'll be for the first to jump in and say NO WAY. Is it doable? You better believe it is. I asked you some questions on another post that you didn't respond to. Are you really looking for answers or an excuse to go back to smoking? What is it about smoking that you miss? Do you really want to die of a long, painful smoking related disease? Do you really think you are somehow immune to this addiction? I promise you that you are not. When your desire not to use NRT is greater than your desire to use NRT, you will quit. You are playing a dangerous game Tryagain. I hope you win. I cut the gum into tiny pieces. It was the sugar free gum that was giving me the problems because I did not stop. I had chewing gum constantly. I broke two teeth off it! I can't imagine those small pieces are giving me much in the way of nic. It has to be more psychological than anything else. I guess I'm batty because I like it! Independently of quitting smoking. I got to like it. I don't like the 4mg because that does give me heartburn. Sometimes I'll use a sliver of nic gum and some flavored sugar free. What kind of NRT? You mentioned going to the patch. You can't cut the patch it clearly states that in the instructions. Did you start the gum again and that's what you cut up? If the gum gives you mouth sores I can't imagine why you'd use it. I tried it about 10 years ago and it tasted nasty and gave me heartburn, have you read allen carr's book? Yesterday panicked my hubby who went down this morning and got more NRT. The use is probably more psychological since I cut them in such tiny pieces. He decided and he's right, I'm better off with the annoying thought than the unpredictability. I'll give it some time and try again later. That's why I'm tryagain.
