I still come to this site hoping to help others as I was helped. I also have some friends here from my early days. Although I dont get here all that much anymore I still feel like I am and always will be a part of this wonderful site. I am sure I will never smoke again, the smell the money the time, my health, are all good reasons to not smoke, but the most important one is......I dont want to anymore!!! I hope this gives you some insight into why I still come here and so many others, spend allot more time here than me, because we love this place that gave us a second chance. I still come around because there are some really awesome friends of mine around here! This was a great place to quit smoking. I found tons of experience, support, and help in my darker hours. I've also shared many successes with this group and even helped out a few quitters along the way. We are like a family. Some of us move away but most of us do come back to visit. Some more often than others. There is also the obvious... quitting takes time. They say it takes 12 to 18 months to quit smoking. One must experience all the seasons to be truly quit. This place doesn't make me crave; this place makes me want to stay quit along with all these other awesome quitters! Why after all this time, are you still on this site regularly? Comradeship Do you still need its strength? Happy to say, no not in the least Are you afraid of giving in, after all this time? No, not at all. Or are you giving a lot of your spare time to help others? Use to be a top priority for quite a spell. Don't you feel like turning the page, after a while, forgetting this site and your former (?) problems? Yep, I have been turning the page as my usefulness has diminished and my quit group has all but disappeared. I am kind of lonely for them. Doesn't it keep you in a certain danger for relapse to stay on this site? I came to this site after I had already quit for six months so no, no relapse danger for me. Sorry to be so curious... but I would love to hear from you... It is good to be curious Cat. I have a twin sister who quit right around your age some 20 to 25 years ago. She quit for a year and then had a puff. She liked it so she had another, and another. After a year she said hey! This quitting stuff is not working. I had better get serious and do it. And my twin says, hey cant have one if you are serious about not smoking. It just doesnt work that way. You Cat have done remarkably well. 20 days is the real hard stuff, I do remember all of this. I know it is hard to give them up but real, real good to do so. I wish you the best. Be smarter then most of us, quit while you are young.
