You are certainly not off your rocker...What is a rocker anyway?...A kind of hobby horse?...Yes in point of fact I would say that perception has a great deal to do with reality. If they are not the same, they certainly are cousins...I have seen my share of negative things in this world, more than some and less than others no doubt. But the one thing that always struck me about negative things is that a negative cannot exist on its own. It owes its very existance to its opposite number. In order for it to exist, it must live in the arms of its other self or positive nature. To seperate one from the other is to create a state of non-existance. We do truly live in a dualistic state. And that is all that I can know about the world...
Now in terms of our current affliction (addiction), there is much seperation pain going on. But we must, if we are to be successful in our journey, understand that the pain we feel has an alternate and positive goodness. That goodness is the fact that we are creating a higher state of wellness for ourselves with each denial of that urge for "just one more cigarette"...And that for me is the basis of the mental war that goes on in each of us as we slowly and in some cases painfully wean ourselves from reliance on a substance that will eventually cut us off from participating in the world as we know it...
Sorry did not mean to go into all of that...But that is what I think anyway...
