Thank you OMT, I made it thru day 1... it wasn't easy, but it's the getting started you gotta get over first. I am just going to try and breathe thru this first week , taking one day at a time. I know yall will be here if I need support and that means a lot!! Hey..January is a good month to quit. I'm a January quitter......(January 2007 that is) It's a great month as not only your stats change to 365 days....but you see the year go up a notch too. You all CAN do it. I know you can. Hang in there and "go with the flow". Just let it happen. I hear you OMT. This quit has my total focus. I can't turn back, NOPE. It's a horribly strong addiction that I have to beat. When I review my reasons for quitting, I believe they are strong enough to keep me quit. At 46 yrs old, there's not a lot of time left to keep putting it off. I know I'm in excellent shape health-wise, so why jeaporadize that at this stage of my life? I love life, I love me, and everyone around me. My family is too important to me to risk dying of lung cancer. I want to be around to enjoy my grandkids whenever they come along. And yes, I will succeed at this. There is no other option. Life is too important to me to risk going back to smoking. Sorry, a little long winded, but I was on a roll! Sue :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/3/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 360 Amount Saved: $136.80 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 22 Mins: 46 Seconds: 19

Kristilu, I just read your other post and I want you to know that you are not alone. We have all been there. Some of us slip or relapse more than others. I have quit so many times, I can't remember how many or what was my longest quit. I think I made six months once? The biggest difference this time is that I am posting more often on this site and I have accepted that I am an addict. That means that I can not have any cigarettes. Not one. Nothing! My previous attempts I would always listen to the junkie when I was out for drinks or with smoking friends. But this time I will not give the junkie thoughts my time. I will do whatever necessary to distract those thoughts. Oh, and this time my quit is my priority. Before I have always been afraid to gain weight or I had other things on my mind. This time I am making my quit my one and only priority. If I don't make it to the gym, so what? If I eat a bag of potato chips, so be it. That's no longer important to me. I have finally realized that gaining five, ten, or even twenty pounds is better than to continue to smoke. Geez.....I guess I said more than I intended.....you get the point! :) Be kind to yourself. Hey OMT - look at you go. :) Past hell week. You too Kartemy - wow! Now that you're this far, watch how quickly your meter goes up. We mentioned to some of our friends on the weekend that it's been 2 weeks for us and they couldn't believe it. Now I look at my meter today and it's showing 18. That means we're on day 19 today - almost 3 weeks! How's everybody else from the group doing? Everybody still on board?
