Hi Kristilu. I am so sorry that you're dealing with so much crap in your life right now. I wish you strength and TRUST in yourself. I wish focus and consciousness about your Quit. Good to see you back in here talking. I missed your voice. kristilu, I'm not sure when you went back to smoking again but what do you think about taking a bit of time to re-group before starting your next quit? I know that most will say "get right back at it" but maybe some more prep time would do some good. Unfortunately there will never be a good time to quit but maybe if you plan for it like a week from now, you can get some new coping techniques in place, get emotionally or physically ready and start fresh. You know yourself better than any of us and so should do what is best for you. We are always rooting for you - let us know how we can help. yes, Rusty, I actually did try to answer these questions for myself on the slippers thread. I have been in this process for the last couple of days trying to prepare myself for a final quit. I struggle with saying final quit, because I've said it before. But I don't want to say my quit or a quit, because I feel like I'm leaving the door open. I have to shut the door, I know this. Kristilu, here are a few questions for you, not to answer here, but to ask yourself. Are you back on the wagon today? Have you gotten rid of your cigarettes, ashtrays, lighters, matches, cigarette case? Have you created a list of reasons that you want to quit? Do you have the keen awareness that you are an addict? Do you understand that saying "There are no excuses I just have sucky coping skills" is not an excuse in itself? Do you understand that you are the only one who can hold you accountable? Do you realize that, even at your young age, you are hurting your body and your mind by constantly stopping and starting? Can you see that maybe quitting smoking might help you save money and contribute to your family's health and well-being? Have you developed some coping mechanisms for when you are craving? Have you examined all the reasons why you keep going back to smoking? Okay, enough lecture. I know that you can quit and I know that you will. Many of us have gone through all the stages and all the grief and we have come out stronger and healthier. You can do it, too! Dear Misty and Sue, I have reset my meter again. There are no excuses. I just have sucky coping skills I guess. This past week was riddled with issues. The dreaded money fight with my hubby, my son having to get stitches, my other son having chest pains and heart palpitations, my dad going to the er for pneumonia and my sister's hubby finally moved out this week. So, I've been really down the last few days and haven't wanted to face the music. But once again, I am reevaluating why I snapped today and hitting it again tomorrow. I feel ridiculous having to quit over and over, what this makes the 4th time this year. DUH!!! Somebody take the hammer to my head for God's sake! But, I'm not going to get down on myself. I don't care if I try quitting 50 times, so long as it ends in a definite quit. And I know I've got all u guys that will support me thru it, and one freakin day you'll be amazed when I am finally quit! for good! love u guys!!! :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/4/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 53 Seconds: 18

Thanks for the messages of support. First day down, and I really don't feel as if I missed a beat. You are right to get back up there and not loose time whining over what cannot be undone no matter how much you wish it could. How many of us regret not getting back up immediately from a slip and letting not only days go by but also years. Hi MJ, Good for you for not giving up. Give it your best shot and learn from this, as to what caused this slip and why. You can do this but, to stay quit, you have to NOPE, and ever!! As you know, it is not easy but it really can be done! Hang in there! Never quit the quit!
