I am so glad you are going to give it another go Kristilu, but I did want to ask you something. Why not do the whole program on the patch? Why not ensure that you will make it this time, by following the program to the letter. I know that you're thinking you want to get rid of the nicotine as soon as possible. I know, I did the patch thing a whole lot of times, but this last time, I did it with one thing in mind, my final quit! I did the whole program and I am glad I did, it let me ease off the nicotine slowly (which is what I needed) and it let me ease into being a non smoker withhout the severe symptoms I had other times. So just something to contemplate while you're gearing up. You can do it, you have the tools right here at this site! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 341 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,525 Amount Saved: $3,597.55 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 19 Mins: 22 Seconds: 8

Thank you so much! Yall are my peeps!! Yall support me no matter how bad I suck at this. I didn't do well at all this try. I made an important decision though. I am going to go with the patch this next go around. (Yes, I'm trying AGAIN!) I realized that my most successful quit (60 days), I used the patch for the first 4 to 5 days and then I took it off and I was fine. So, I am going to try that. And I'm going to keep trying until I've tried everything! My dad was hospitalized with pneumonia earlier this week and he has smoked for 50 years. I can't very well ask him to quit, if I haven't quit. Thank you guys for answering my post! And please don't write me off when I post again, I really do listen to you. It's the nicodemon that won't listen. I know I have things to take control of and I am getting there. And yes, I will need a hammer, a sledge hammer. (uh oh Sue, think I just got a new theme song ;) ) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/11/2008 Smoke-Free Days: -1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -25 Amount Saved: $-6.88 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -2392

Kristilu, I too have recently slipped. :( I am going to follow your lead and also make a list of the reasons I need to quit and what I will do to make it through the tough spots. For me, it's my husband (he has made no attempts to quit and I find it so hard to not smoke when I know he is smoking) and any social function. I want to stay away from all my friends and any social outings for the next six months at least. But some people tell me I shouldn't stop living my life. I just don't know if I'm strong enough... But, I'll keep trying. Thanks for your post, you've inspired me. Together, we can do this! Kristilu, That is an exceptional list there. Its worth writing on a piece of paper and keeping it in your purse too. I love your determination and getting back on your quit is so cool. I'm watching and willing you on too.
