OMT I thrilled youre giving this another shot. Huge hugs to you. Thats an amazing list youve compiled. OMT - I was so happy to read your post! Glad to have you back too! You've got a great plan in place. Just remember, the nicodemon will mess with your thoughts and you'll find yourself battling mind games at times (e.g. false rationalizations for why you can smoke). Don't listen! Thoughts are just thoughts - they are not behavior! We're all rooting for you! OMT, I for one am proud of you. Sounds like you have a lucid plan. Don't wait until it is too late before writing. You'll need some time for people to reply. You can do it. I know you can. I see it in your writing. I don't know whether you believe in junkie thinking but keep in mind that you might have thoughts like 'maybe I should smoke instead of post'. The junkie is of course only interested in smoking and nothing else. I hope this advice works for you. What you put in you will get out! May you have ultimate energy in this fight. Best wishes, and I will be keeping a guarding eye always, hoping to shoo away the nicodemons from your doorstep. HUGS from Kev p.s. the deep breathing is a stellar idea! That's a great list OMT! Keep it going buddy, I want you here with us in this beach! I miss ya girl :) Just give us a shout whenever you need a little hug, or a motivational speech :P You can do it! P.S. I've been spending all of my extra money on nice food and bus tickets lately so I don't have to deal with the cold weather when I come home late at night but I will definitely start putting some aside too for trips to Europe to visit my boy. But I have to say your number 9 is probably one of my favs ;). OK, you've convinced me to give this another go. First, I would like to say THANK YOU! To everyone, for all your support, encouragement and advise. I am going to give this another go. Here is what I am going to do to make sure this time I DON'T SLIP! 1. Keep a copy of this handy at all times and READ IT before I light up! 2. If a computer is accessible, POST before I light up! 3. Remind myself that I want a better life for myself. 4. Exercise. 5. Deposit half of my quit smoking money into a travel fund and remind myself of all the places I want to go. 6. Deposit the other half of my quit smoking money into an 'emergency reward' fund to be used when necessary. 7. Prove to my husband that this CAN BE DONE! With or without him. 8. Remind myself that I want to be healthy. 9. Take a bath, nap, or watch a movie. 10. Do ANYTHING ecept light up another smoke! 11. Stay AWAY from trigger situations (and if it's too late, take five deep breaths, and read this again!)
