Kev, If your life is hectic at the moment, it's a good job that you aren't smoking, because that would give you even less hours in the day to do what you are doing. Which gives me another thought, perhaps our Quit Meters should have another category, the amount of time when we hads to suspend what we were doing in order to have our nicotine fix, let's call it 'Life Wasted' My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 718 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,540 Amount Saved: 5,385.00 Life Gained: Days: 117 Hrs: 1 Mins: 26 Seconds: 30

Continued from last JDK thread ... :) Hi Lizzie, Nice to see you. I'm loitering when I can :) yep, it is very hectic at the moment here at work. I itch to write more but time is limited, so you have quick writing Kev for the time being. Apologies for any spelling mistakes etc. Thinking of you and wondering how life is treating you. I hope good. I'd like good things to happen to good people, but I know it is not always the case. On my side, I am hanging in there, trying my absolute best to stay smokefree. I didn't have a milestone nosedive this time, which is a relief. I would like to thank everyone for their kind 200 day wishes while I have the chance. My mum's friend was ordered to go and see the quit smoking specialist after having her throat stripped for the third time. She's been smoking for 40+ years apparently and has been given patches. Most are expecting her to last 24 hours or less before she smokes again. Me? Well I am sending good vibes her way. I know people can give up smoking not matter how long they have smoked. The real factor is how addicted you are. Even then, its not impossible to quit. Sue, would you believe it. On my day 200, I ended up being dragged around not 1 but 3 M&S stores. My nan needed a pink bath mat and my mum wanted to change the handbag my dad had got her for christmas. Given that i am not left alone in case I might smoke, I came along. There was a big difference between the second and last store. one was in a seventies complex and has not had any work done to it since then. We were one of 10 people in the shop (including the staff!). The last one was a megastore. At one point the biggest in the country. My mum found her perfect handbag and then proceeded to look for some jeans while dad and I went to have a look at the HD ready televisions..mmmm technology :) After a while, we got called to have a look at two jeans that mum had found and she went to try them on. Unlike the old style changing rooms, this had one entrance and a different exit. We were told to move to the exit and wait. The exit however, just happens to be right in the middle of the biggest lingerie section known to man (or should that be woman :) ). So picture if you will two blokes by the thong and sports bra section, twiddling their thumbs waiting for someone to appear at the exit! I think we may have accidentally put off the young sporty girl looking for sports bras! Anyway, eventually mum turns up and we make a quick escape. To celebrate my making it to a totally unreal, never to repeat, 200 days smokefree. I treated mum and dad to a chinese takeaway and a movie. By which time, I was completely knackered. Anyway, I promised I would write this to you as I knew you missed M&S's. I'd just like to add that my feet hurt from standing around so I guess it is exercise. I have a new goal to keep me occupied and away from smokes for another week. I am redoing my entire CD collection on my computer. This could take a while :) The end goal is to get everything at a higher bit rate and have all the artwork and naming sorted. I'm dreaming of a new mp3 player, which is breaking up my dreams of smoking. Goals are good. p.s. yes, I know I don't need a new MP3 player as I have 3 already, but music is a passion of mine.
