NEED TO VENT...

Good for you for not caving! What they don't realize is that quitting is one of the hardest things that anyone can ever do....If you can do this, you can do anything! I have to admit that there were times during my quit that I had more difficulty coping because I had always relied on cigarettes to deal with every stress. I had to learn all new coping skills. The great thing is that now that we are free of our addiction, we don't have to add that on to the list of stressors that we deal with every day. Keep up the good work with your quit - You are doing so well...and don't let those other guys get you down! that is what they were referring too...how ridiculous!! I can recognize that. Instead of working really hard until the end of my shift tonight at 7pm, I am going to finish reading Allan Carrs book and they can pay me to do it... :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,310 Amount Saved: $288.75 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 7 Mins: 51 Seconds: 41

I'm glad Bear asked that question. I forgot to ask when I posted. That's a very strange thing for an employer to say if they were referring to you not smoking. As I said before, it will all work out. You have no idea how right you are bear. Isn't that crazy? I almost laughed, and you know what, my quit is more important to me than anything right now. I still feel very fragile and this may not have been the right thing, no matter how qualified I was. At least I have all of my wise friends to talk to...Thanks! You might not be able to handle the stress as well as before. Before what ??? When you were smoking ??? You don't need that job or that company in my opinion. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 338 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,084 Amount Saved: $3,380.00 Life Gained: Days: 82 Hrs: 7 Mins: 24 Seconds: 43

I have always watched your posts Terry, all the things you stated while you were working up to your quit date were words directly from my mouth. I think I may have been a professional smoker who was attached in every way...and soooooo scared to quit. I still don't know if I am scared or not, but I am doing it!!! Yes Yeah you! Absolutely. I'm sorry you didn't get the position you wanted but, you know, the right thing for you will come along when it is supposed to. Maybe there is something better waiting for you right around the corner. Keep up the quit and keep a positive attitude. All is well! I'm following you people with more time than me, so you have to keep it up for the newbies. So I just got notified that I did not get the position that I interviewed for. Reasons being, they thought I might not be able to handle stress as well as I did before, and that my current skills were to valuable to let go right now. Needless to say, the thought of a cig crossed my mind, but thats it, just crossed it. I walked instead. yeah me I guess. :| My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,310 Amount Saved: $288.75 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 7 Mins: 42 Seconds: 21
