"Fake it until you make it!" does work; imagine that! Give it a try even if you are skeptical and you may be pleasantly surprised to find your day goes a little smoother and you truly do feel better!
A great post Pen; And thanks to all the SSC members for your timely 'bumps' along the way. Eyja
•Fake it until you make it! The simple act of smiling and laughing can help lift your mood and make it easier for you to see your world in a positive light.
•Begin each morning off on the right foot. Begin each day by naming everyone and everything you are grateful for. You can also alternate with naming each person you love and what exactly you love about them.
I'm a pro at the first one and will now work on making the second bullet a priority as well

It was posts like this from you and others like Duffis, Nonic, Stickin' and a few others that were VERY influential to me right from the very beginning! I will be for ever indebted to y'all and the SCC for the role you played in my quit!
Thanks for being here!

Thanks for this post of a couple of years ago. It was very important to me and helped me to feel more positive, as did many of your posts at the start of my quit....6 months after you quit!
When this post was first bumped in April 2008, I had just had the diagnosis of a Sarcoma and was making every effort to be positive.....it was not easy, but reading this post did 'snap me' into a much more positive frame of mind. I had to stay strong for my family and to fight the cancer. My favourite part is also "if you can't make it fake it."
To all new quitters, faking it can somehow melt into making it! You find that you can make it if you remain positive.
Thanks again Penitent.
Love Lolly.
