When You Really Just don't Want to Smoke

BlueCloud, You have come so far in your quit. There may still be the occassional urge to smoke but you now know what the real freedom feels like. I can't imagine going back to slavery to the cigarette. It seems like it takes forever to get to this point but it is so worth it once we arrive. Congratultions!!!! I thought the day would never come when I would just not want to smoke. I knew I needed to not smoke. I felt like I should be smart enough to know better than to smoke. I knew I wasn't breathing good because of smoke but something in the back of my mind told me I would like to smoke. It would make me feel better. On those days I would post and recieve advice and encouragement about how to just power through. One day at a time I powered through. Little by little I started feeling better. I felt better but I still thought I was having to give up something. I can truely say I don't think I am missing something any more. I am feeling free. Really free. This freedom was fought hard for. I was told it will be so worth it but I had my doubts. I no longer have those doubts. It takes time and work and you have to want to quit but I am living proof that one day if you don't smoke long enough, you will just not want too. I smoked 47 years. I am so glad I found this site and the knowledge to quit.
