a1, You have my sympathy, I do have to apologize that I haven't gone through the same experience, but my wife has. She's asked me a number of times to let her smoke. I keep telling her that it's her quit. If she let's it go it will only be on her shoulders. You've done so well this far. I know that there's no way you would ever want to go through hell week again. You are doing the right thing by posting before you smoke. Sorry I can't be more help. Hey A1, Way to stay strong and smoke free!! You had a huge amount of stress on you, and look what you did? You got through it with out smoking!! That, my friend, is something to be very proud of. Taking care of sick kids and husbands and yourself is very hard under any circumstances. Hats off to you for getting it done with only a few tears and meds!! thank you Sylvie, it just seems that I am switching one addiction for another. I take alprazolam sometimes three times a day and clonazapam sometimes twice a day. Not always, somedays I only take one pill. I just get scarred that I will never be able to live "free" so to speak without a crutch. I feel weak. So many out here have done it cold turkey and won, I feel like a sissy sometimes. I am not one of those whiners looking for all kinds of positive or you are not talk..(I hated those girls in highschool). You know what I mean, they weighed like three pounds and complained they were fat just so you would tell them how skinny they were. I am not trying to bash, just explain that I really am not looking for sympathy, but some idea as to what my deal is. I listened to some hypnosis cds in the beginning, maybe I should do that again, any suggestions from anybody that has heard of a good online cd hypnotist? I am checking my EAP to see if I have counceling sessions available to me. I am sorry for rambling, I know I have good days and don't post enough of them, I tend to post when I feel down. Thats no good. for the next 20 min I will make everyone I come in contact with laugh...hopefully it will rub off on me. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 110 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,300 Amount Saved: $412.50 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 23 Mins: 52 Seconds: 24

anxious1, You don't sound stupid. It's normal to experience craves when you're going through a rough time. Keep pushing forward, you're doing great! This is your quit, don't let it get away. Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

For the last three weeks, every viris known to man has gone through my house infecting my children very badly and us adults enough to complain but pop lots of pills. Illness has always been a huge stressor for me, I know I have issues with it, but I try and deal with it. Vomit for one is one of my biggest fear factors and thats all my kids wanted to do. Under normal circumstances I would have smoked a carton withing two days during a time like this, but I did not have any. I cried some to release the stress, and took care of my kids. I feel really run down and in a slump and feel this weird crave thing, I don't know, besides rambling I am making myself sound stupid. I just thought I would share that this was huge for me and I made it, emotionally, but I did. I did use the help of my anti anxiety meds, but thats better than smoking. Happy day to all who are here!!
