I believe Ive accepted the fact that Ive quit smoking for good. Forever. As most smokers can relate to, I thought Id be a little sad or scared coming to that realization, but Im not. It feels alright. Even though smoking has been a huge component in my life, Im finally OK with letting it go. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Id see 100 days, but Im just about there. And it feels almost peaceful. I realize my quit is still quite fragile, but wont it always be? Since Ill always be an addict, that fragility will never leave, but I feel Ive got a good handle on it and I wont let my guard down. I know I will be tested for the rest of my life, but right now Im OK with that too. I can accept the fact that I will always miss smoking, but ..as of January 3rd, I quit smoking, I believe in myself, I'm a stronger person for it, and Im proud of myself . As an aside, hubby is still going strong too. Im so proud of him. He loves the brand new lungs that he got in January! Congratulations to everyone still beating the demon. Keep going strong!
