Pregnant Smoker - need support

for 16 år siden 0 447 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
You might ask your doctor about Chantix. I don't know the affects on the unborn child. You have to be more ready to quit than you are to keep smoking. I know that being pregnant brings all this up but unless you are willing to do it for yourself and no one else you will not have near as good a chance at succeeding. Read this program, pick up the tools that are given and use the people that post here. I agree with what was said about cutting down being hard on you. I did that at first for way to long and I was miserable. If you can just put them down and get thru the first few days you'll be fine. No one ever died from going thru the withdrawl symptoms, but they do die from smoking. Freogirl - I'm glad you've come here - the SSC truly helped me quit and stay quit after years of failed attempts. So stick around! Have you ever tried Acupuncture? Some people have found this incredibly helpful in quitting, and some insurance companies even cover it! Besides using the patch - what else helped you last time? Freogirl, Welcome to the site - this is a great place to quit. Cutting down is pretty hard to do - I think harder than quitting. Even 1 a day or 1 a week is too many because you keep the physical and mental addiction alive, and will eventually relapse. So I have to ask you a hard question : do you really want to quit? If so, you need to go for 0 cigarettes a day. So assuming you want to quit, then there are other things you can do apart from nicotene replacement - hypnotherapy for instance can be very effective. But you probably know this from last time - there is no magic bullet. If you get the right mindset and determination going, then its one heck of a lot easier. There are a lot of tools here on this site to help you identify triggers and make plans for how you are going cope with a craving. There are a lot of people on this site that will support you when you start your quit, and will help you every step of the way. Have a look around! Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and am trying to quit. I'm having trouble getting through the day without lighting up. Any advice from people would be very welcome. I have quit before for four years but then started again. When I quit last time, I used patches but can't use them this time due to the pregnancy I've been told. Down to under 10 cigarettes per day but can't get any lower.
