Hey Pet!!

Keep that quit going!!!  I know it will be hard to give up both of those vices, but do what you have to do to save your quit!!!  I'm a beer lover and I knew that I would have hated to give up my 1 or 2 beers a night!  So, I didn't....  I turned my love of beer into my reward for making it through the day smoke free!!  When that nico-demon tried to talk me into a smoke to go along with that beer, I just kept telling him NO!!!  I wasn't going to let him win  because that was my reward!!!

I know that this kind of thinking is not for everyone, probably not for most as a matter of fact!  It "can" be done, but you have to have a great commitment to your quit if drinking is a major trigger!  So, like I said, do what you have to do to protect your quit!!!  There will be plenty of time for the glass of wine or cocktail when you are further along in your quit!

Pet, congratulations on surviving Day 1!  Looks like you know that alcohol is your trigger, and once you have drinking 100% under control, not smoking will be a piece of cake.  You really need a good reward system, expecially to replace that cocktail and glass of wine you are so used to drinking every day.  Just make sure the reward doesn't make you want to smoke!  LOL!  So glad to have you back!

Thank you for your support. Did it my day 1. Went pretty well. cravings were very minimals.
I also stopped  drinking again. After 1 cocktail and 1 glass of wine i go right back for it.

I think I should have stopped drinking longer. It is my main trigger.

Glad to be back. Jim you are getting close to a year and rock close to 4 months. This is great!!

Hi Moose, welcome to SSC, I was a smoker too not a chewer or a dipper? (dont really know what either of those are) but I do know about giving up a habit and would still like to offer my support and encouragement with your quit.
This site is terrific Moose, theres a ton of info on how to beat this awful addiction we all suffer from and there is always someone there to share their experience (love the pebble LLama!!)
Look forward to hearing how your quit journey goes.

Glad you are feeling better.   Yes I was  ... spacey..  for a bit.. I think someone said we are getting more oxygen now.. so we can feel a bit giddy, light headed or not quite as sharp as a tack..  Don't worry.. as the nicotine and toxins leave.. your mind and body will adust to actually getting oxygen ...
