Thanks for writing everybody.  I think I will give it a try.  I feel so down that I can barely move.  I even had to take a sick day today.  Yucko.

I appreciate the support.  I really needed it-- especially today.

Deb, I have been where you are at so many times.  Don't do it.  Take the pills they will help you a lot.  Give them a couple weeks to kick in.  I am taking an antidepressant and I feel they help me with life in general and really help with my quit.  If you don't try you don't know if they will work for you.  I had a very hard time taking them until someone explained to me that sometime there is a chemical in are brains that are not producing as much as it should.  The pill just helps to get the chemical balance get in balance in our brain.  Hope this makes sense.  Maybe the mods will have more input.

Hi Deb, yes 51 days is fantastic, well done. As for the anti d meds, well I take them, in fact I just went back on them last week. This time I thought I would try and stop it before it took hold of me, and so far so good. I wouldn't try and persuade you either way, thats your decision and I really do understand your concerns as I have been there. All I will say is for me the medication is preferable to the illness.
Good luck Deb and well done on your quit it's fantastic.

Deb:
51 days is an awesome achievement.  You should be proud of yourself!!  As for as antidepressants I took zyban at first and it actually made me feel better about my self as a person.  I think this helped with my quit.  I have not taken zyban for quite a while now but it did help out in the begining.  I hope this helps.  But above all, feel good that you have gone almost two months without a smoke.

Good for you for being active in your progress!

Check with your pharmacist as well.  Both your doctor and pharmacist can give you information on side effects, dosages and weaning off medication.

The members will be along shortly to share their experiences!

Congrats on 50 days!

 Hey you guys!
I am going through it.  I finally took myself to the doc's this morning because of depression that I just can't shake.  Now that I'm this far into the quit, I've been having these feelings of "is this it?"  Kind of an empty feeling.  I recall this happened before so I would like to head it off at the pass.... he did prescribe antidepressants, but I feel on the fence about whether or not to take them.  I keep waiting for it to pass!  I might give it just a little more time.  I don't know.

50 days :)  That's something to feel happy about.
