Well I get it Sparky.  You are going through a trial of a lifetime, and smoking was always with us during these times.  That doesn't mean you are not strong enough to handle it without smoking, because you can.  You are a strong, sturdy woman who can get through each day without a cigarette....

with love,

Kelly

Sparky
Ahhhh...the nicodemon awaiteth....always.
50 days - you've got a good quit on your hands.  Congratulations!

Everyone has their own reasons of why they want to quit.  Maybe a sister who died from cancer, or new grandbabies to hold and enjoy.  Are these 'reasons' enough to make someone stay quit?  I don't know.

I have quit as many times as you have.  You know the drill here, but if I may....

The only reason to STAY quit is for you a NO other reason, and

STAYING quit means having to accept that you are an ADDICT.

It's not about losing another quit, it's about being a SMOKER.....or not.

Take what you want, leave the rest.

Post everyday Sharon...you do best when you are supporting others and receiving support in return. Hold my hand Sharon, and

Keep the Quit!!!!

J

Thanks everyone.  MM you are one of the reason I am not smoking.  Thanks for the slap aside the head or was that a kick in the a$$.  I got the message.  Todash, you read me loud and clear Sue, Rock, Grimm, Brenda, Cristinas, Jim, and Kaiser, you guys mean so much to me.  Every word you posted hit home.  In AA they say we need to change playgrounds and sometimes friends.  But what hit me the most is MM's statement : " The pitiful truth is an apology should never be followed by an excuse. "

I always have and excuse...........................but never a good one.

Keep the Quit

Not that I am passing judgement on anyone.  I was the queen of failed quits.  It's not an easy addiction to overcome.  But-the people here with lengthy quits are evident that it CAN be done.

I missed this at first.  I could say so much, but it's redundant.  I will be 50 this month and feel like I owe an apology to my kids and grandkids.  The pitiful truth is an apology should never be followed by an excuse.  (I won't be around as long as I would like to because I chose to smoke even though I knew the consequences)  How weak and sad is that?  Be the example and quit.  Your family will admire your strength!
