Good on you Rose...This quitting is not a passive activity.  Cessation is really about movement, recognition of triggers, developing a real understanding of the reasons behind the addiction and most of all courage.  Change does not come without facing adversity and staring it down...Little by little, bit by bit you will find yourself altering the way that you think when faced with an upsetting circumstance.  And once you do you will gain confidence in your ability to be Rose sans the weeds...
stay well

"I have talked to the person involved and we have worked out a solution and resolved some of the issues" says Rose

This is going to be one of your best lessons in fighting the nicotine addiction. In our past our emotions and smoking went hand in hand.  To now see that you are recognizing the emotion, feeling it, and then working through it to come out on the other side shows you are well on your way to healing yourself of this addiction.  Another great thing that comes out of it is you will find  that people will start to respect you more because they can sense you now believing in yourself and what's important to you, and then they start to appreciate who you are because you are living that truth instead of hiding under that mask of smoke.

Super happy for ya!
Ron

Hi Everybody,

Just wanted to update you all.  I am doing much better today.  I have found out what some of my triggers are and have zeroed in on where my anger is coming from.  I have talked to the person involved and we have worked out a solution and resolved some of the issues.  Keeping my quit should be much easier now.  Thank you all for your support and advice, it really helped me to understand and work on some of the problems I was having with my emotions.  I am sure it will continue to help me with other issues that are bound to come up.   This really is a journey, learning to live, feel and be a non-smoker.
I am so grateful to have you all with me on this journey.

Rose

Rose, you are doing so well.  Stay focused and absorb everything around you over then next weeks/months.  You will learn so much about yourself.  Just as you are learning to live a smoke-free life, also look for the triggers that touch off your anger, sadness and such.
Know that you will have low spots and high points.  Both can be astoundingly enlightening.  Keep searching for the lesson that can be applied again in the future.  Keep your resolve and

Keep the Quit,

Dave

Rose, anything worth having in life is worth fighting for.  And yes, there are challenges and struggles.  But at the end of the day you can look at yourself in the mirror and say I won!  I beat the nicodemon.  And my relationships are still intact.  And life is good!  Hang in there!

nonic,  Thanks again.

Kaiser,  Thanks for the support.

Todash,   Nicotine is a real monster thats for sure.  I am still shaking that tree and I have found my voice now I just need to learn how to control it.

Thank you all for your support.  Its so good knowing I can come here and let my voice be heard by people who understand.
Without being judged.  I want to keep this quit  and my relationship more than anything.
