Hi Quit Sistahs! Yes I mean you JoDee and Roxie (ShyOne)!
I hope you check in soon!  I'm glad I didn't smoke today so I can be proud to Congratulate my February 2011 Quit Buddies on the week of your upcoming 100 day Hurdles of ongoing NOPE-NESS!  And because I feel good to make it past my 100 day Hurdle with NOPE too!  Take care : ) Eya

So exciting Aloha!  Wonderful reasons to remain smoke-free.  Both your grandchild and his/her(?!) parents will undoubtedly be grateful to you.

To all SCC, what are the reasons you are glad for not smoking today?

Today the reasons I'm so glad I don't smoke anymore has to do with my coming grandchild:
  • I can support my grandchild's parents in not smoking for the wellbeing of their child by being a good example
  • I can spend some of the 10 grand I've saved by not smoking on buying nutritious and yummy food for my grandchild's mommy
  • I can look forward to snuggling with my grandchild without worrying about spreading a noxious odor or handing the baby off because I want/need a smoke break

Man alive, I love not smoking!

I saw another death warmed over guy today..you know the kind? Skin kind of greyish? Looks like the blood isn't flowing too well? Funny, I never noticed them before I quit smoking. Really. But now when I do I feel so sorry for them...and so so so glad that I don't smoke any more. I wonder if my pallor was like that. Scary.

I am glad I didn't smoke today.  I hate resetting my quit date.  But I would hate it more, because I am worth this quit and I have so many wonderful friends from SSC cheering me on.  What a difference 24 hours make.

So great to see you girls already feeling the benefits. I wish I had quit earlier because before I did I guess I damaged my lungs a bit. They never will be what they could have been, but they sure are a lot better than they would have been if I'd kept on smoking.....off to hike : )

Um, Eya? Don't look now, you've now not smoked over 500 cigarettes. Add the one your friend offered you and it's 501!  Craziness, yeah?

I'm glad I didn't smoke today because I could increase my jog/walk to a 2:1 ratio (thanks Aloha for the tip) and add an additional 30 minutes to my workout today. No sore lungs or coughing ! Also I'm proud that I resisted my friend (and former) smoking buddy's offer for a cig last night and felt good about doing so!  Too Cool!

Hey JoDee!  Thanks for this post - how are you doing Quit Sistah?  How about your Roxie?  Why are you guys glad you didn't snoke today?

Hey there,

So great to see those old habits being replaced with healthier ones that will carry you into the future! And you must be feeling so good that your lungs and body are showing such signs of healing and improvement. What a great reward for your hard work!

I'm glad I didn't smoke today because I was able to walk in the woods for over an hour and a half without feeling like I was going to keel over and die! (Am I technically a hiker now?) I could smell the fresh air, the budding plants, the earth, and the crystal clear waterfalls. It was awesome. I always loved the woods, and now I get to enjoy them so much more.

Aloha and Penitent, thank you for sharing your progress. I'm the same way--5 minutes of walking used to be all I could handle. So my recent lung-power is a huge surprise to me. I would love to jog in those woods. So I'm gonna keep returning to your posts for inspiration.

Brenda, how are your sinuses?

LOL Shevie you made my 3/8 and 3/11.  So true.

Mmmmwah!
