Hey Eyja!!!

I looked all over for this thread this morning and FINALLY found it going through the back door, so to speak, since the forum topic "Avoiding relapse and slipping" is no longer listed on the main page! I sent a note to "feedback" about the country issue and got a response from Ashley this morning. She asked me to let her know who I knew that were not from Canada to give her a staring point! Then, I found the post where Impalamania posted on his 1095 days and lo and behold it listed Ashley as being from the US! Looks like there must be some kind of secret war going on if we got Toronto as part of the US!!! BTW, my hometown is a little burg called Wellsville, very close to the Pennsylvania border! Those Mounties really infiltrated that part of NY!

Anyways, I sent Ashley a note about the missing forum topic, too! I'll keep you posted about that!

I actually spent a week with my boy scout troop at a lake in Canada in my youth! I think it was called Bear Lake, but I'm not quite sure about that! I remember quite a bit about the trip... we camped on an island in the lake, I got my motor-boating merit badge that trip and the water was freakin' cold! You couldn't keep us out of it, though!!! Of course my favorite place to go was Crystal Beach!!! Oh, the memories of that place......

Grand Island... even though I only lived a couple hours south of there, I had never actually been there until a couple years ago and this year around the holidays! Yup! Neat place!!!

Hey guys : ) I actually do live in Canada - but mine is about the only profile here that doesn't say so! And I see Kristen wrote a message on her profile stating emphatically that she DOESN'T live in Canada! So I'm glad you're onto it Jim Hotsie-Oh! You're right that someone will have something new to take care of here at SSC - I do hope they remember where everyone actually hails from now! As far as the Mounties are concerned - I was under the impression they've been quite busy over the years conquering all kinds of things, but as you noted - no one's really aware of the details! I think they had a passive approach to the Peace Bridge/New York takeover - they rode their horses to the shore of the Niagara and took to the river in dug-out canoes! There must've been 3 (maybe 4) dozen men in uniform & women with umbrellas (that Niagara mist is murder on hair). They rode Tennessee Walking Horses so they wouldn't stand out from the crowd once they set ashore in America. I heard there were even a few dogs in dinghies involved in that takeover. It was back in '82 I think I believe it all went well too. No one noticed! So there was no need to make any changes whatsoever! Just carry on . . . And of course, keep racking up these great Quit stats. I'm in for that. NOPE! I won't smoke today :)

Hi Jim, Beautiful area you come from. I spent a week camping on Grand Island one year and we all loved it. The Falls are Amazing ! We really enjoyed that trip.

I noticed the country change, too! I was wondering when the Mounties crossed the Peace Bridge and conquered Western New York! (where I'm originally from) I sent a notice through feedback! Someone will now have something new on their plate to take care of!!
