Well, I nearly fell off my chair this morning when I saw my name! I'm not sure it is well deserved, as I have not been as industrious on site as I was in the beginning, and my posts tend not to be so pointed as they once were.....maybe I've mellowed!
So much water has passed under the bridge since I made the decision to quit smoking for ever, and not only in my life, but in the lives of all of my friends here at SSC. It still amazes me that we can all remain in contact with each other through one shared action...quitting.
It just shows how massive a decision it was in our lives. We were emotionally tied to each other at that time and just the mention of a name from way back then triggers those responses once again.
I wonder if new quitters read these types of post about oldies. Do they just dismiss the whole thing as sentimentality, or think that maybe we oldies, who remain, still need our ties to SSC for ourselves? I think I can speak for many of us...we return time and again to help new quitters as we were helped in the past.
I knew that my quit in November 2004 would be make or break..... I made it with the help of everyone here at SSC. My key ring still opens my front door every day. It was in May 7 years ago that I first was honoured by the HOF. Thank you once again for this second honour, and for my Freedom.
Love Lolly.
