Bad day

for 12 år siden 0 816 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
jack126  Glad you're feeling better today. The six week part of the quit had been particularly problematic for me. Remember to take care of yourself and not set yourself up for a return to the old ways. Remember H.A.L.T. You can start a new day anytime you like. We usually only have bad moments but if we let it consume us it will eat us up. Anyway , gad to see that you're back. Excellent for you. breather

40 days to the good, buddy!!!  And just think, 2 more days and it will be 6 WEEKS!!!  Another milestone and reason for a great reward!!!  Celebrate daily, Jack... you deserve it!!!

Hey there jack126,

You can do this.

Remember how bad the cravings were when you first quit? If you could get past those, you can get through this day. Not to mention the fact that you don't go through all the physical withdrawal and intense cravings that will go with quitting again. Even one or two (and you know you'll wnt more than that), and you'll have to do the detox routine again. Not worth it at all.

Now, think of all the positives: You smell better, your friends and family are proud of you, you're saving money, you're breathing better, and your circulation has improved. Your brain is getting a heckuva a lot more oxygen-rich blood than it was a couple of months ago, so you are smart enough to just say "nope" today.

Hey Jack!!!

Glad you stopped by!!!  Keep your eyes on the prize, buddy!!!  You have done this one day at a time since you started this journey, just do what ever it takes to get through this "bad" day!!!  One thing that may help is what I have been preaching since I started on my journey... Positive Mental Attitude!!!  Try to keep the positive thoughts in the forefront of your mind today!  It doesn't HAVE to be all piss and vinegar!  What can you do to turn the "bad" around???

When I had days like this, I made sure to have plenty of ice water, did my deep breathing and got away from the normal routine for a bit!  I used to go to the stairwell and just walk up the stairs, step by step, rhythmically breathing deep with each and every step!  While doing this, I would focus on the positive things I could do when I got back to the routine to make the day a better day!    Give it a try!  DO NOT let the demon win the battle today... you've come too far!!!!

Cold water, munchie snacks, walk the stairs or around the block at lunch time, what is in your crave basket???  Where is your list of coping mechanisms?  Review the program if necessary!  Do what ever it takes to protect your quit, buddy!!!   Post for help when ever you need to !!!  Distraction helps!!!

Jack,

You said it yourself. You are just having a bad day. That doesn't make it a day to smoke.
You will get through it and this time you will come out a winner as a non-smoker..
Because You don't smoke anymore. You Are a Non-Smoker now...

Stick with us Jack! You know smoking will not make it a better day! The longer you do this, the less you will want to go back to that!
Promise!

Don't give in, think of how far you've made it!  If you can get 39 days in, what's another day?  Just take it an hour at a time.

I think today I need help! After 39 smoke free days the cravings are back. I'm going through over a very difficult situation and feel that my will is weakening. I don't know. Maybe it's only a bad day. Anyway, thank you for the possible help. Jack126
