Hi Xavier and thanks for your post.

Fwiw, I like to remember those cigs I smoked that I did NOT enjoy. Objectively, over time and increased usage, that became most of them. Remember that one you may have sparked getting off the plane and how it didn't seem as satisfactory as you thought it would be? Or what about that one you took during a work break when you really weren't entirely in the mood for it? Or there was that one you may have had after a night of drinking and your lungs feel like crap, but you did just to feed the nico beast. Or perhaps that other one you didn't taste anything but smoke, and sent you into a coughing fit. Or there was that other one you had having to go out in the middle of some awful winter day. And then there was that other one you just had to have to stave off a craving that took you away from the social situation.

I would say always remember the worst smoking events, never the good ones. You may find the former outweighs the latter.

Hey there Machiavelli.... Just one will end in tears !

Don't go down that path bro...... do what you gotta do but avoid it at all costs.

fwiw, i slipped up from family pressure at 2 years (they were jealous of my quit).

I hid in my garage & lit up a port royal roll your own. I took some puffs... then a few more... waiting for the buzz (but it didn't happen). I just tasted smoke !

I realized real smart..... We don't enjoy smoking ! The reprieve from smoking is feeding of our nicotine addiction. The withdrawal is what keeps you tied up to that electric chair.

DON'T DO IT ..... If you open your eyes, you will learn this from your journey... read & learn that knowledge is the key to staying quit.

All the best

I am so glad you are focused and you decided not to have just one. As you know "just one" thinking is very dangerous and you have worked too hard to risk it for a few moments of smoking.

Nice work on fighting those thoughts! It is not easy but you are still doing an awesome job.

Hi Machiavelli,

Are you saying the cravings are getting stronger? If so, what do you think may be causing this increase?
Sometimes figuring out the source of the craving can help us to manage.
