Yes. And then some. I found once I stopped (July 22nd) the first week was a turmoil of what I would characterize as withdrawal symptoms, both physical and mental. Staying busy really helped me as I could focus on a task while I worked through the challenge of the experience. I also try to detach myself from the experience and look at it from the outside. I can remember saying to myself "Well, this is a very strange feeling, I wasn't expecting that!" when I would feeling some stress of withdrawal. Separating the mind from the physical was pretty interesting to say the least!
Stay strong John! You'll be fine. Drink lot's of water, re-load you're B vitamins (6, 12, 100) and get some exercise (walks are great). Your body is hitting repair mode so it's perfectly normal. You'll start feeling a lot better very soon (a couple of days more).
Thus is the beginning of the 3rd day since I have had a drink. I had a good sleep, but I have a headache and feel hungover and irritable. Is this what happens when one stops? I was drinking 5 to 15 drinks daily. It's been so long since I haven't had a drink for 2 days that I can't remember how it feels. It feels like a drink would address these physical conditions! I'm in my mid 50's and otherwise healthy.
