No problem Isabella! I know what it's like. It seems like with the anxiety, everytime you turn around you're sick with something, or atleast it seems like that. But I agree, it's good that these things happen so we learn how to effectively manage them instead of letting them consume us, it's the only way to fight back! Glad your feeling better, too!

Hi Isabella I would have definitely responded as i can really relate to your fears but i've only just joined this site. So glad to hear you are feeling better! I'm similar with my bronchitis/chest infection, i am loads better. We just have to remember to try to stay calm in the middle of it. Not easy! lol!

Rosemary and Lil_Bit, Thank you soooo much for your reassurance. I am 100% better now and I look back and laugh at how freaked out I was. I still have a minor cough but I am much better now and can breathe much better too. I still wheeze a little at night but I just try to relax and do breathing exercises. I wish I would've heard from you then as I was soooo scared and anxious from not being able to breathe out of my nose or mouth and having the fever and everything else. It is cold season though and it is virtually impossible to not get a cold so I need to learn how to deal with it more effectively instead of always assuming the worst. But that is really hard to do when your biggest fear is dying. Anyways, thanks for responding. ~Isabella~

Hey Isabella...I'm sorry your not feeling well! I just had my own health issues, which I won't go into here because I want this thread to be all about you. I did want to say that Bronchitus will not turn into pneumonia, they are two totally different viruses. I have dealt with both in the last year and a half and honestly, you have nothing to worry about. Once the medication has run it's course, you're going to feel much better! And if you're still having trouble breathing, do what I do, go into the bathroom, put a towel under the door and run the hot water. Pretend you're in a fancy spa, heck put on a facial mask of some sort while you're in there, and relax. (You can find recipies for homemade ones) Make it like a minivacation. I do this even when I don't have breathing troubles as I find it very relaxing. And get better soon!

Hi Isabela and everyone I'm new here but i just wanted to say i hope you are feeling better by now. I realise i am responding late to this but i had to reply because it was really like reading my own words!!!! I have had that dreaded bronchitis thing that's been around and i have had 3 asthma flare ups in the last six months, something i've never had before (only mild wheeziness very infrequently). So i was feeling bad too, feeling like i couldn't breathe and had to be given steroids to open up my lungs. I too was afraid of getting an allergic reaction - in fact that is one of my 'issues' at the moment - but i didn't. So i guess what can i say with hindsight? what can we learn from all this? I don't know, all i know is most people don't worry nearly half as much and it's tiring! lol! I guess if you were not given steroids, not given asthma inhalers, etc, then they were not that concerned about your breathing. Just thought i'd mention that as it might reassure you. Of course if you were given those things that doesn't mean you were in dangeer, i was and the doctor still said i was only moderately 'compromised' as he put it. It's scary not being able to breathe properly. Something that helps me at those times is Aconite. It's a homeopathic remedy and is good for sudden breathing difficulty or sudden illness and also panic. I also read that psychological therapy often helps asthma (which essentially is breathing difficulty) by helping the patient to think differently and relax. Relaxation helps us to breathe more effectively without hyperventilating, which only makes breathing problems worse. Anywawy i'm rambling on but hope you are feeling loads better and know you can get through something like this now! Rosemary

Isabella, No fever! That's a great improvement! You've received some great advice from your fellow members. Keep focusing on the positive. You are now on antibiotics, they will help your body get rid of the bronchitis and ear infection. If your concerned about side effects or the appearance of a new symptom, call your doctor and ask. Keep persevering! Danielle _____________________ The PC Support Team

Thanks for the support Angel. You are right, about us taking our own advice. I dish it out all the time but when I get put in a situation like this it is hard to be rational with myself. I am doing somewhat better though. Just some nasty side effects from the meds(i'd say what but it would probably grose people out LOL), a horrible cough, stuffed up nose, ear pain from the ear infection, nauseated, fatigued, but hey no fever! Things could be worse I guess. Thanks for the encouragement though. I really, really appreciate it. ~Isabella~

Hi Isabella, I hope your feeling better! I would take Diva's advice on this one. She pretty much said it all! Just focus on what you have (bronchitis) and stop worrying about what you may get (hmmm, i should take my own advice haha). I know its hard. BELIEVE ME I KNOW. I'm one to talk! But you just have to remember that we are "WHat If" type people.....we always are afraid of what mayyyyy happen to us. So just focus on the positives, that you are resting, taking meds, and doing everything in your favour! You will be fine my dear! Work through it, dont work against it!
