Hi Rosemary, I will copy a post below which outlines the use of this feature, but first, make sure you are allowing pop-ups, also you may need to adjust your security settings. This worked for me by following the instructions below, then hitting refresh, and then clicking on "Launch". For Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+: 1. Choose Tools, then select Internet Options. 2. Click the Security tab. 3. IE€™s default setting is Medium. The IM requires this setting to be set to the default level. How to Log Into the new CBT Web-Based Instant Messenger: 1. Log into the PC. 2. Go to the PC Support Group home page. 3. Click the word Launch beside the sentence The new and improved CBT Buddies Instant Messenger 4. Voila! You are logged in and ready to chat with other PC members who are online. How to Add Members: 1. Log into the PC. 2. Launch the CBT Buddies Instant Messenger. 3. Click Add New Contact at the top of the screen. 4. A screen will pop up. Insert the nickname of the Buddy (their nickname is the name that they use in the Support Group)that you want to add to your contact list and click Add 5. You can now begin chatting with your Buddy If you have any questions or comments, or if you receive any errors, please contact us by clicking the Feedback button at the bottom of the page. Thanks re the messenger system. Thing is i've clicked on launch and i just get back to the forum, nothing seems to get activated. Nothing is coming up differently on my screen. I gather that it's underused here, but i would probably be logged on most nights......as i use other messenger systems. So i would love to get this sorted. if anyone can help further on this please let me know. thanks in advance!

Listen you are at a crossroad in your life and it is normal for you to be feeling more stressed so dot be too hard on yourself. On the other hand if keeping it all together is difficult i do suggest you talk to your doctor again and be honest with him so he can help you. Also, do you have a therapist, have you considered one I could really help. Also, the CBT program here is real good been helping me since i started it. You could always try it and see :) In the meantime be good to yourself :) -Diva

Davidb88, Consult your doctor. He/she is the best authority to advise you on this matter. Together, you'll be able to come up with a plan that is suitable to your needs. Danielle ______________________ The PC Support Team

I've been taking Imovane everynight for 8 months and have not really noticed any daytime anxiety for the first little, lately though I felt i grew dependance on it in a way and would get very anxious until I took it again and would begin taking half a pill before bed to help ease the anxiety and after I took it again i would feel 100% perfect again. Even after I had my full fledged panic attack after taking imovane i felt completely normal. I am trying to venture away from imovane now however because of the fear that it did eventually percipitate my anxiety. I have been using alot of substances to cope with my anxiety but am scared to fight this now since I can't be having symtoms right now with my new job which is an 8months coop and then im backto school which would make everything more tolerable. I guess all I am is just worried about the future and whats going to happen..Scared to keep going the same way but scared to make changes

When you are in the first page of the forums, there is right on top of the forums a yellow button that says Launch. If you hit that it will open the Messenger system. It is unfortunetely underused but it is always worth checking :)

Thanks Diva! by the way i'd love to access the Instant messenger here, i'm always on the net and it would be grat to talk to others in real time. Thing is i can't find it to download it. I can't even find the list of 'forums' here tonight. I've been to my session diary but there doesn't seem to be anything to click on to get the instant messenger. Anyone able to help? thanks!! Just to say this is a great site, it's covered so much and provides so much i am really grateful to have found it!

I agree that you should ger a secong opinion. I was going to be put on the Hypnotic calle Imovane until i saw that in some cases it cause increased anxiety lol then i said no way and decided i did not need sleeping pills lol! True the clonazepam i take in the evening makes me sleep anyway so who am i to talk but what i meant to say is some hypnotics have anxiety as a rare side effect so yu should definetely check up on this. But in the meantime, doing the program here really helps you feel better and more in control and get over stuff :) -Diva

Thanks Danielle Perhaps i will try seeking a second opinion as my doctor responds with 'it shouldn't do that,' to every medication that i have taken. Another doctor told me that zoplicone is such a new drug that we don't really know the long term side effects. I would have thought if something is calming the brain down as much as that ( a hypnotic) then there could be some sort of rebound reaction from the brain, hence a more anxious state. I've never had generalised anxiety and panics before, they've developed over the last 2 years. That's the same period of time i've been taking zoplicone.

Rosemary, Feeling anxious is a less common side effect. If you feel you are experiencing side effects, go back to your doctor or seek a second opinion. Don't discount that it could also be related to your panic if you have a fear of taking medications. Danielle ______________________ The PC Support Team
