well im totally off paxil now and taking 225mg of effexor xr. The effexor seems to help more than the paxil ever did. I dont have the shakes or trembles with this medication but I am still having panic attacks. I have been on the Effexor xr now for about a month and I am feeling better and better each day.
So far so good I have dropped down to 15mg of paxil and 150 of effexor xr with no side effects. I still cant tell a dramatic difference with my panic attacks but I dont think that I have Been on effexor long enough for it to start working. I will continue to update as time passes.

Keep working with your doctor. Many of our members have struggled with this issue. It takes some time but eventually you'll find the right combination for you.

I started taking effexor 2 years ago.But now it doesn't seem to work,even though I take 300mg a day. Hopefully they will change meds by the of this month so I can start having some semblance of a normal life and get back to work after almost 3 years of long term disability.I've tried paxil but didnt work for me.
Just started my first dose of effexor xr today 37.5 mgs. I've been on paxil 60 mgs a day and xanax 6 mgs daily for quite sometime now. I am dropping the paxil down to 50 mgs and staying with the same dose of xanax per my doctor. I have read alot of good things about this medication and some bad but If they said eat a spoonful of dirt once a day I would try it. Anythings worth trying to get rid of panic attacks. I really haven't had a problem with depression just with panic and agoraphobia. So maybe this 12 week CBT and effexor will do the trick..
