I would still love to chat. I apologize but life is VERY busy. I'm doing schooling through correspondence as well my daughter is in a theatrical production this week and I haven't had a chance to reply. Did I mention that I have a 2 year old boy that runs me in circles all day.. LOL. a lot of joy but not a lot of time to correspond. Sorry for my ignorance but I'm not sure what our time difference would be. 3 hours I'm assuming... so let's pick a time to chat.
Hi Mya..
I was started out too high actually... I think I started at 20mg a day and that was crazy for me..so I went to 15 mg per day.. which for me was much better. I took 10mg in the AM and 5 mg at night... Sometimes it wasn't enough though..ie. that time of month ..nothing terrible but I was definately a "bit" anxious..but as soon as that was done I would go back to feeling great.
The worrying about side effects is completely normal.. It's what you've been doing for months (or years in my case) so that type of thinking won't stop.. but the meds will give you the ability to start focusing on change. For me they gave me clarity and the physical and mental ability to start working on me. As I've said before the medication does not cure anxiety but is an effective tool in learning to deal and live with it. It becomes so infrequent that when it does occur you've had time to learn to cope and deal.. most of the time anyways. We have to remember that even "normal" people experience anxiety from time to time and some is ok.. and part of life. So we need to be ready for those times and not think of them as negatives..
I still focus on my body at times...but for me it's been over 10 years so I'm able to tell myself it's not going to happen quite effectively.. do your best at challenging... and try to distract yourself.. that's what I do...
I would love to chat on messenger if that would help you.. Probably would help me too..lol... It's great to share...
I'm in BC, Canada.. so I'm not sure what your time zone is..but we could definately try to co-ordinate something.
Be strong girl! You're doing great :).. Oh and you're tired from the battle you've been fighting ... Anxiety is exhausting ...
Hello Mya,
I do not take paxil as I am allergic to SSRI's. But I know two people who take it. Both of them had symptoms and side effects at first till they got used to the meds and found the proper doses. What they do tell me tho is that Paxil worked great for them and they are really happy they took it.They both say it helped them a ton with getting through their therapy and being calm enough to face their fears. Both of them are doing really well now. Anyway, sorry I don't have a first hand account for you but I thought I would share what I do know about Paxil.
