yes. they're all good kids aren't they? My bunny is having a litter in a few more days. that'll be something nice and positive for me to focus on if I'm down. cute little fuzzy baby wabbits.

My kitten is a orange hairball. He is entering his rebellious teenage years but still finds time to come and help me on those rough days. He's a good kid.

My cat is more demanding and sucky than that though. It's good, because he won't let me retreat inside my head; he demands happy thoughts and affection, licks up my tears if they fall. He's had a bit of baggage too, (two crappy homes before mine) so we support each other in a sense. he needs the love, and I need to give it.

I love my cat and he is such a sweet heart but he is computer jealous and has to get in the way and seems to know where the delete button is. When I have my phone on speaker phone he will come to say hi if he recognizes the voice. And they don't judge is right. What you give is what you get back and then some. I have more than one and they have got me through some pretty tough times. Besides they keep you busy cleaning up cat hair. They are like family without all the baggage. If you want good caring company get a cat. If you want someone to suck up to you get a dog. Cats are less trouble and with a few toys are perfectly capable of occupying their selves when you are too out of it to give them a lot of attention. You may think they are ignoring you but they know your every move. Be warned though. If you talk to them they will talk back and some times they don't know when to shut up. If your depressed you can always talk to your cat.

Obviously a cat person.

oh, I know you can't do this at work, but my animals really help me too. My cat is a dear. he can tell if I'm having a bad day, and he'll come over and give me hugs and kisses.  It's hard not to feel a little more relaxed with him purring right in my ear. And they don't judge you or think you're weird.

I find music really helps me calm down. I'm a musical person, and that is my happy place. It gives me something better to focus on, and it drowns out the noise going through my head.

Hi AMJ

If you don't have windows to look out you can try imagination. I do this in crowded restuarants. Lean back, close eyes and imagine nice open peacefull place for a while. Any thing to break the claustraphobic cycle for a while. Don't forget to imagine sound also.

Hi AMJ,
Are there any windows at your work that you can gaze out of when you are feeling claustrophobic?  Sometimes just looking at something different, rather than the confines of a workspace help.
Or do you have a laptop / computer?  That way you can look at some pictures of things that calm you down and you can help yourself stay at work longer.
Good luck!!

Good Morning,

Thanks for responding. Now I get most of my anxiety in the mornings before work and while at work. Not all day but I sometimes feel claustrophobic in the office which I think leads to my negative thoughts. I will definetly try to get out during my breaks. I sometimes go home on particular rough days and feel better temporarily only to start all over again the next day, I have recently been forcing myself to stay at work the whole day and it turns out that I am very proud of myself afterward and feel better when I get home. I will continue to work on it. Thank you.

I had the same problem Amj.  I finally started getting active on my lunch, like taking walks.  I have also noticed that I am worse off not working because it gives me more time to think about the anxiety and the negative thoughts.
