This is all we can do, tackle on problem at a time and put the rest of them in a box.  It reminds me of what my son said about ptsd, that we all have things that we have had happen to us in life that scar our brain and that sometimes you just have to put these memories away in a box. He is a firefighter and my dad was a firefighter and I did private duty nursing for years and we all have had memories we have had to put away.  We call it the monster in the box.  You just have to put them away, forget about them and move on with your life.  I know that this may not relate to things that we need to do or have to do but I do think it helps when you need to decide what things really need my attention and what things don't.

Some times you just have to say "To hell with it." "I am not doing this any more." "What is the worst that can happen to me." "I might embarrass myself but I won't die."  Of course the first time I did this I didn't care, I was so bad I would rather have died. But I didn't so I get to keep pushing and nagging you till you too are free enough to say "I am not doing this any more," and then some. Really what is the worst that can happen? You will be embarrassed! Is this thought feeding your anxiety? Are you going to let it win? If you have never been embarrassed before then it is time you were, just for the experience. Pride, vanity, they all feed our anxiety.

Over the last week I have had a number of things go wrong to add to the things from before that are still not fixed so they are piling up. I could feel the anxiety building last night and I have to admit that it did wake me every hour. I still went back to sleep but that is not good sleep. And for what, all those things that need to be fixed are still there. It is a gorgeous day. After I have breakfast I will pick the most important and fix it, and the next and we will see how far I get. Some are just worry and hinge on the future, they will have to go back in the box for later. I'll try to bury them with a few accomplishments.

By the way this is not setback, this is just life in general for a cripple. Having Staph on top just makes it a bit more challenging. What happens, happens, the world will still be revolving long after I'm gone. What matters is that I tried.
That will be my Epitaph. "HE TRIED"

Happy Mothers Day.

I want to make next Sunday, "No panic day" and see how many of us manage it. A little twist on Fudd's law which says if you push something hard enough it will fall over. If you want something bad enough you can get it. You just have to want it bad enough. The end justifies the means. Just do it.

No fair Yoda, you had 800 years to get it right.
Hope you all have a nice day.

Davit.

shadowkins,
Its good to hear that you got some sleep last night.  Sorry to hear your anxiety is bad today.  I am having some anxiety today also.  Holidays are hard for me.   Its sounds like you are on the right track and have some pleasant distractions planned for today with your family.   Enjoy yourself and have a nice Mothers Day.

Go figure a little 800 years old green guy would be so wise!!!

I managed to get sleep last night despite the anxiety and panic . Today the anxiety is more than yesterday  but I am doing breathing exercises and listening to my relaxation tape. I must admit that even the relaxation tape is having a hard time to quell the anxiety.
It's one hell of a way to spend Mother's Day but that is what has been handed to me , so I will deal with it as best I can.

I have to admit I almost got up to take a .5 tablet but didn't...I knew the clonazepam was a temporary reprieve so that I could get some strength back...I guess I was just hoping the anxiety would be less.

At least there will be some distractions today, my husband and son are taking me out for brunch and later we are going to the home where my mother-in-law lives to have ice cream cake and coffee ( not me ...tea) . She will be 96 this month and it will be easier to visit with her there. Can't really bring her for brunch... she has no teeth!

Any ways hope all you ladies are having a nice Mothers Day and a sunny day to the rest. Talk to you later.

Oh, I like that quote too.  "There is no try. Do or do not do."   You may encounter trials and errors, but that's o.k. as you are doing.

Thanks Lucid Dream,
The support is very welcome and it helps to chat with friends who have been there. I'm doing my best.
Like they said at our session , don't use the term "try" cause it doesn't show committement ... so as Yoda says
" there is no try, do or do not" LOL
Big Hugs to all of you for the kind words and shoulders.

Hi Shadowkins,
Hang in there.  You know that you can do this.  Tell those pesky anxious thoughts that they need to get lost!
Keep focusing on the positives and be proud that you are taking steps everyday to help yourself (meds or no meds, in both situations you are taking charge).
I kid you not.  Keep trying.  You'll get there.  Even on those setback nights, challenge those thoughts and it will keep getting easier.  Be patient and strong.  It will work out in time...I promise!!!

I am glad to see you are taking calcium as it has a calming effect and is necessary for signals to cross the synapses. Because I waste it with the arthritis I take more than needed. It really makes a difference in my anxiety level.  I also take some magnesium. It is advisable to have your electrolytes checked a few times a year to make sure every thing stays balanced.  Calcium is better absorbed on an empty stomach with a glass of water.

Here for you.
