You have been so busy! You are being so resourceful! I love how you asserted yourself with those individuals who were talking to you all at once. Wow! How far you have come! How does it feel to be so in control?
I have had a very busy week working on my exposure and agoraphobia. I left my house several times this week and interacted with numerous people. I went into two quilts shops. I traveled a long distance to a sewing machine shop twice this week. I shopped for and got lots of supplies. I also signed up for another class last night, which I am going to today. It is a one day class on getting to know your machine. My other class the quilting class starts on the 15. The original class I wanted to take was full so I called around and found another class. I have made a lot of progress this week. Made lots of phone calls, then went to the various business, and signed up for classes. Of course for me this is all part of the process of learning to do things in steps in order to reach a goal and get well. Also I was able to deal with all the chatter and keep focused. I actually told a few of the people that I was talking to, that I could not concentrate on more than one thing at a time and that they would have to stop talking to me all at the same time. They understood the problem and talked one at a time and showed me what I wanted to see one idem at a time. This has been a tiring and exciting week. I am getting where I want to be one step at a time. Breaking things down into steps has really helped me. I am looking forward to my classes and I am feeling less anxiety about being in class. This is a good anxiety. Once I get out of here and get there I know it will be a lot easier.
Glad to hear you had a great birthday! I had a really great day yesterday, went for a bike ride, stopped in at a little mall. Shopped around for a while, just overall had a good time!
I made your cheese sauce and it was delicious. I just turned 56 and I finally learned how to make cheese sauce and it came out perfect. You are never to old to learn and try new things. Thanks again Cleo for the recipe. Also I like you new pic and congratulations to you on learning how to put your pictures all by yourself on line. It is so nice to see a picture of the person you are talking to.
I want to thank you all for the birthday wishes. I had a very nice birthday yesterday and it would of been a lot nicer if I hadn't gotten a call from my Dr's office telling me he wanted to see me this week to discuss my labs. I already had a appointment set up with him for Sept. 16 . Anyway a big red flag went off in my head and the what if this what if that negative thoughts started and did put a damper on my birthday yesterday. Well I went into see him this morning and everything is ok and can be treated with my bp meds and diet and exercise the Dr said. It good to know it isn't really bad and that I am ok. So the what ifs and the catastrophic thinking was unfounded. I have never had a Dr. call me in for Good news before and I assumed it was bad news. One more negative core belief that wasn't based on reality. I sure hope I have learned a lesson for this, don't jump to conclusions, Challenge every negative thought and core belief because most likely they are not based on fact and are untrue.
