Hello again:  Speaking of goals, they should be specific ones, not just a general statement such as "I want to get out more".  What is it exactly you will do to get out more? 

Walk up and down the street for some fresh air?
  Go to the corner store? 
Walk to the post office?
 Go for a coffee with friends once a wk.? 
Volunteer once a wk. somewhere? 
 
That's what I mean, a specific intention, not just a generalization of the gotta get out more type of goal.

Hello ducky:  Whine away, that's what this site is for, we've all been there, we understand. Yes, I can relate to what you are saying.  Ever heard of the expression "Fake it till you make it"?  I did that for quite a long time. Sometimes you have to try and do that.  It's not always easy but don't give up.  I have GAD also, not very badly now, but once upon a time, very much so in a debilitating way.  Although I was panic attack free before starting on cipralex, it does help keep this generalized anxiety at bay and so helps keep my blood pressure down.  My pressure goes very high in the 200's, so it wears a person out.  Happy to say, all is under control now and has been for a few months.  My body is getting a rest and when I've been well for a good year or so, will taper off the cipralex with the doctor's help.  I have tapered off Paxil before, many years ago, and it went o.k.  According to my doctor, she tells me cipralex has fewer side effects so it should be even easier.  Keep working the program and lean on us.  Keep posting, we are listening and we will answer.  Hang onto our hands, we will support you.  Reach your goals, big or small, and we will celebrate with you.
A suggestion:  Can you write a list of things you wish to do this coming wk.?  Doesn't have to be big goals, little goals are fine.  As you do them, tick them off.  This is a positive reinforcement to show you how you are getting things done and moving ahead, step by step.  It took awhile to get where you are now, it might take a while for your body to heal too.  Can't rush it sometimes.  Little by little.  Everyday write down three things you are thankful for, these are positives too.
 
Hope some ideas here to help you out.

Thanks for the suggestions!  To give you some background, I've been dealing with anxiety and depression over the past 5 years.  I was put on effexor many years ago and it helped for about a year and then it was a nightmare when I tried to come off of it.  I've been slowly tapering off over the past year and switching to cipralex. It's going okay.  I think primarily I have generalized anxiety.  And when I get in a negative mood I just feel fake thinking positive things and very unauthentic.  I try new hobbies but I don't really ever "feel" anything.  I know I have to keep trying and to try to just be curious about stuff.  The only time I can have a good time is when I'm with friends and I get out of my head.  I'm really bad with uncertainty and I know I have to raise my tolerance around uncertainty.  When you have anxiety its hard to know if you want to do something or not, because your body might be telling you not too.  Its frustrating.  Sorry for my whining...

You have received some tips from Davit, the winter season can definitely affect our moods. Try incorporating more mood boosting activities into your weekly routine like physical activity, taking in a comedy show, spending time with friends. You can also do some research to find something new to try (dancing, playing an instrument, writing...etc) you may even discover a new hobby that you can spend your free time perfecting! 
 
Remember to continue working through the sessions of the program and posting often.

Well as a disabled person I find it hard to stay motivated, I also get bored. But being bored is just an excuse to me to get out of doing something. 

Have you been checked for Diabetes or low blood pressure, do you know for a fact it is mental?
Do you do this just at work or everywhere? If it is consistent reoccurring at regular intervals it could be a chemical deficiency depression. Too little Seratonan possibly. Or dopamine. SSRIs for the first and Tricyclics for the second. Certainly a question for a Doctor and probably a good reason for some tests.

Could it just be that it is the weekend and you have nothing planned or that in a couple of days you have to start another non fulfilling week.

It's winter, could this be SAD, seasonally adjusted disorder? Do you get out enough? I know I don't being disabled but I have a lamp too.

Hey,
 
I was having a reasonablly good week.  Getting through my stuff at work, feeling pretty motivated, getting some exercise.  Then today came along and I feel so out-of-it.  I feel like there's a layer between me and the world.  But it's not because I'm in my own head, its like I'm just checked out.  I get this often.  I know that by the end of the week I'm bored of work.  But I often complain that I'm bored.  I find that alot of the time, things don't grab and hold my attention.  It takes work on most days to stay focused and connected and not check-out.  Does anyone else feel this way?
 
Any suggestions?
