We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible. - Chretien Malesherbes
Our thoughts are so powerful, that we can accomplish so much. I remember a manager telling me I was my own worst enemy, and he was referring to my thoughts, of course. He supported me, and I became much more successful.
If you set a goal for yourself and are able to achieve it, you have won your race. Your goal can be to come in first, to improve your performance, or just to finish the race -- it's up to you. - Dave Scott
I wonder if others have trouble with facing the responsibility of making choices, since "...it's up to you" as the author of the quote says.
Avoiding making a decision doesn't give me anything it seems, except guilt, frustration, regret, perfectionism and other kinds of self-criticism. There has to be a way out of this circle.
It is raining here and blowing. Very unseasonable. Last time it did this was 29 years ago. I don't like it but will live with it. On top of the ice it is very slippery. Have to be careful where we put salt so it doesn't get in the flower beds.
The weather has been unseasonable warm where I live the last few days.We have been having frost at night and getting up to white roof tops in the morning. Some of the plants and the lawn have been burned from the frost.. In contrast the days have be warming up into the high 70's and low 80's this week. Not sure if I should put on a jacket or a pair of shorts. The weather sure seems to be changing in my neck of the woods. I wonder if it is global warming or a ice age. It is confusing that is for sure. I am not going to complaint or fret about it though because I am enjoying the warm weather to much to care...
I had a craving for popcorn so I loaded the dog in the car and took a run at the drift. Almost made it through too. Well it was a good try but should have cleaned at least a trail through the drift first. You know how it is, it didn't look that bad. Duh! Turns out it was deeper than it looked.
About 16 inches deep. Duh! Car has about 5 inches of clearance. Still have a craving for popcorn but the driveway is clean now. It really drifted in hard. I could walk on it. It is only two degrees below freezing so the diesel tractor started. Still windy so it will probably drift in again tonight, supposed to snow too. Hope I still want the popcorn tomorrow. Oh the joy of living in the country. Had to settle for pie and a cookie. Life can be so tough :-)
We are in agreement on that. This morning the sunrise was exquisite. I know it means more snow or rain but I can find the beauty in that also since the wind has drifted in the driveway and I'll have to clean it anyway. Besides the wind makes lovely patterns in the snow. Going to the grocery store today and I will smile at my neighbours when they complain about the winter. :-)
