Thanks for everyones advice I really appeciate it, I'm not as anxious about it as I was but still in the back of my mind Im scared theres something else wrong with me. I'm going to try and ignore it though and not let myself get paniced by it. Thank you all again. :)

Slinky, Quite common among individuals with panic. There are a few threads on the forums concerning this very subject. As your body' stress levels rise as a result of anxiety or other, your ability to store memories of objects, places or other is impaired. Making a list is a great suggestion as is continuing to tackle the root cause of it all. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

I have learned that this is absolutely normal from my CBT coach/Dr., and have seen this same symptom posted on this site a few times. I certainly have noticed that I am quite forgetful particularly when I am anxious. Let's face it, a lot of energy is put into managing anxiety and anxious thoughts. Sometimes the little details of our lives, like repeating oneself, isn't the brains priority. The remedy......lists, lists, lists. I write things down now. If it's important it makes it to my "to do" list." Don't forget that anxiety will look for any opportunity to work it's majic on you so try your best to relax and realize that this too will pass and until it does you still have control of the situation, by making lists and therefore decreasing the anxiety. It may also be that, with the holidays approaching, there are more things to remember and events to co-ordinate so it may be a very normal symptom at this time of year for anyone (with or without anxiety). In my circumstance, I truly beleive that the anxious thoughts blow things out of proportion. Sure I forget things but if I let the anxiety get a hold of me, all of a sudden I'm on the path to Alzheimers or some other manufactured crisis. :) Write things down and don't let the fear cloud reality. Wow, that's really long winded. Sorry!

I've been doing quite well with my anxiety over the last year or so and have found that exercise has been a big help to me, but over the last few days I have become obsessed that I am forgetting things. It started on Saturday night when I made the same comment twice to my husband about how high a pair of new shoes were!! Then yesterday I completely forgot I was meant to be in work an hour early, I remembered at the last minute but I am now convinced I have memory loss. I know I'm getting anxious again I think because its coming up to Christmas and theres a lot going on with family and stuff but I wondered if anyone else forgets things when they are anxious. I feel really silly about it because I know its irrational over those two things but I'm already starting to make lists to make sure I can remember everything. Does anyone have any advice?
