Thanks so much for your replies !!! They have really helped me get through this. As of today I am doing much better and am having some success in the sleep department. I am going to try the hot bath tonight and maybe the aromatherapy. I have tried some chamomile tea before bed and that seems to help.
Nicole518 It's funny you mentioned yawning because I noticed today that I have been doing that alot lately. Funny little side effect.
Thanks again to everyone. I couldn't do it without your support !!!
Hi Nina,
When I started taking Zoloft about 3 months ago, for the first couple of weeks, I was going crazy. I was soooo tired but I could not sleep. I was wide awake. I started to think that I would have to change my medicine, but I hung in there and sure enough the side effects wore off. i am no longer up at nights and my stomach isn't as sensitive. I was also yawning A LOT when I first started taking it and that too has also subsided. I hope this was some help to you. Hang in there it takes awhile for the meds to work. I haven't had a serious panic attack since July 4th! :)
I had the same thing for a long long time. I finally started to take one Xanax after a hot bath and Ta-Da! worked like a charm. Tylenol PM works great too if you do not have Xanax.
Nina,
As minimal as it sounds, how about a relaxation device. Try something that makes you relax before bed. A warm beverage, a hot bath with aromatherapy lotion. This may help you sleep better and longer.
Also check with your doctor about your symptoms. They will have some sound advice for you as well.
Sleep tight,
Josie
Nina,
I recently experienced the same thing with Zoloft, but I'm on day 13 and it's gotten much better. I take a hot bath before bed and listen to soothing music as I fall asleep. I also force my mind to concentrate on positive things---doing mental imagery with the music helps.
Hang in there---it gets better! :)
Yes, I used to have the same problem, but now I have different medications. Tell your doctor and he will probably give you something in addition to help you fall to sleep. Sleep is very important. Otherwise, aromatherapy has helped me too. Roman Chamomile can be a strong seditive. If you mix five drops in a teaspoon or or more of olive oil or Grapeseed Oil and massage your whole body with it before bed, it may help. It is expensive, but potent.
Hi, I posted earlier this week about my anxiety over my new medication, Zoloft, which I have now been on for 5 days ... I look forward to the 14th day when hopefully my edgyness will subside ... in the meantime does anyone have any hints about how to get through the nights??? I have always had a hard time going to sleep but now, on the zoloft, I feel all tense and tight and my mind races double time as I try to drift off to sleep ... I am soooooooooooooo tired !!! I stayed up until 3 am last night reading because I was so anxious and then woke up a dozen times before I had to get the kids off to school. My whole body feels like its humming (wierd huh?) any suggestions ???
Thanks in advance !!!Love you guys (and gals) :)
