Dee,
I'm not trying to brush your symptoms of as being silly. I believe that for your own peace of mind, you should discuss this with your doctor.
I've found that once I've been reassured that there is no physical cause for my symptoms, I no longer think, "Oh! I'm dying!" but rather, "Oh! I think I'm dying but Dr. C. says I'm fine."
Not much difference in the symptoms, but a little less frightening.
Sadly, in my case, my body just moves on to other symptoms that have to be investigated.
On a lighter note, I had a very good visit with my physician last week. We laughed as I pulled out my list of life threatening symptoms and checked them off, one by one. Since I have recently had my yearly physical (necessary for my peace of mine as well as health), I understand that many of these symptoms are brought on by my anxiety, but I need her to tell me that I am fine. I believe that the Wellbutrin that I am now taking helps me deal with the pre and post attack anxiety.
I'll have to add...some of the diseases I used to diagnose myself with were doozies. In one week, I could be dying of BeriBeri, Elephantitis, testicular cancer (and I'm a woman, lol), gout and tubal pregnancy. No wonder I was exhausted.
I still have panic attacks. I even think they are as severe as ever, but how I am dealing with them has changed.
Best of luck to you.
