Summer & Chanda,
I have been a member of a chat room for GAD and panic disorder for a few months. It can be found at http://members.shaw.ca/kar-kay/index.html
It has been a huge benefit to me and perhaps it could be of some use to you as well.

Summer,
I agree with Chanda. I think it would be great to have a live chat room too, but it is comforting just knowing that there are people here who understand. If you check the "notify me when someone responds" box that appears below each post you make you will get an email with a direct link to your post and the replies. Sometimes when I post i get only 1 reply, but other times you may get 20 or more. I think if you give this site a chance you will make some new friends, and get alot of answers to your questions.
Well good luck and hang in there.
P.S.- If you'd like someone to chat with you can email me and i'll give you my instant messenger screenname. I'm online everyday and would enjoy chatting with you. My email address is samanthadtv@yahoo.com .
:)

Hi Summer, I got your post in "success stories" but I was thinking maybe you would see this one quicker.
I'm sorry you are disappointed. This support group really helps me a lot, but it is not like a private or live chat room. (although that would be a nice feature.) You have to post your message/reply then people will genegally post back.
Some days are busier than others. Sometimes I'll get replys within minutes & sometimes it might take a day or so. But either way I find it to be very supportive.
It's nice for me to know that I'm not alone in this, because I don't personally know anyone else with panic disorder/agoraphobia around me & sometimes I just felt noone understood..until I found this site.
However, Like I said above, it would be nice to have a live chat room where you could really have a conversation but I haven't found one like that.
The more you post here I think you'll like it.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Chanda :) :)
