How can you 'trick' anxiety? How can it no longer be a part of you? I don't mean to offend, but anxiety will always be a part of us, it's the learning to manage it that's the trick. I've seen people on this site who have had anxiety for years and years, and manage it well. Some have major relapses. Some have minor. Why would the Linden Method tell you not to talk about it? That doesn't seem healthy to me. Aren't we supposed to face our anxiety / panic in order to conquer it? I am not trying to be snotty or put down your choices, but my suspicions are aroused. It does not seem healthy to try and 'trick' your body into believing the panic is gone. It sounds like trying to 'trick' an alcoholic into believing they don't need alcohol. Maybe if you could forward me a website for the Linden Method, I would understand better. To be frank, alarm bells are going off in my head left, right, and centre out of genuine concern for you. I do not mean to disrespect your choices, I only want to understand them. About the meds, I've had a terrible time, too. I tried 5 different kinds of antidepressants (one had me in hospital) before my therapist and I decided that my body chemistry cannot handle them. Have you tried other meds like Clonazepam or Valium? What about other methods like shiatzu or acupuncture? I'm using acupuncture, which is starting to work really well. I feel very calm for days afterwards. I am working with my acupunture therapist closely to battle this. She is a Panic Survivor, so she knows what it's like. Good luck. Sarah

Hello. I've read your description and it's nothing I have not heard or been through before. I have had much trouble in the past and am currently going through a mild version of anxiety which leads to panic. I am off meds for the first time in ages. I am trying natural methods, plenty of exercise and positive thinking. I have been in therapy for a while, but recently went a whole year without going. I used to have trouble in high school all day. I'd have 2-3 panic attacks a day. I now use only valium in extreme cases, but no longer am on daily meds. I was on triavil and prozac. I dropped prozac in July 2003 and have never looked back. Anything I can help with, please let me know. David

Speaking of the constant buzz of panic. I have had that with me for 2 straight months. It seems like it never goes away. I am not on any medications nor will I take them. I do not have a good reaction to anything so I am just meditating and learning that all I have to do is just relax when they come. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. So for the people who say we are weak with it than I say try one on for size you will be singing a different tune. I want to thank you all for your support. I purchased the Linden Method and well it says not to talk about this condition so I don't confuse my brian when I am teaching it the new trick that Anxiety/Panic is no longer a part of me. Wish me luck and say a small prayer for me and I will do the same for all of you.

Speaking of diet and panic attacks, my homeopathic practitioner has just asked me to remove all gluten, wheat and dairy from my diet. She says that it will help the panic lessen (I also have celiac disease) and I will feel much better shortly. Has anyone else ever done this? Right now I feel AWFUL. Could it be that my body is detoxifying? I have had a constant buzz of panic under my skin for about three days now.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel....trust me, I have ccome backc from the depths of this disorder over the last 16 years....I relapsed about 1 year ago and am trusting that this too shall pass like it has in the past BUT its a slow process for some....this illness does suck but you will get better after you are on the right meds, diet, frame of mind, etc....This illness totally sucks and the embarrassment is natural becacuse people think we are weak and fearful BUT trust me, any person in thbe world no matter how brave would be weakened by this.....just that people dont get it....Jay Mohr the famous comedian has it and he said that he would rather have a pneumonia 3 x per year for life rather than one more panic attack...he is currently treated with klonopin and lexapro and is doing fine.....

OBrendie, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Keep posting with us, Josie

Hello My name is Brenda and I have suffered from Severe Panic, Agrophobia, Anxiety now for 2 months. I have been cooped up in my house, off of work and feeling embarassed about it all. Now that I have found this site I feel that there is hope. I feel that I am not alone even though I live alone. I have a better understanding of what is happening to me and there are other people out there that have the same challenges as I am facing right now. I just wanted to say Thanks for being there. This is the best hope that I have had in a long time. By the way... I cry a lot every day sometimes for hours. I have not found anybody that understand or is going thru this horriffic ordeal and that makes it tough for me to handle by myself. I am not sure what will happen but this is great to have this support group.
