Conflict Causing Bad Symptoms

for 13 år siden 0 6252 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Ashley is right, it is the degree of anxiety. If you can handle it reasonably well then it doesn't count. Could you divide a page in two and put on one side all the times you feel bad and on the other side all the times you feel good to get a more realistic look at how your day is going. I think you might find you have more good periods than you think. And if not then at least you will know what areas to work on. Thinking and writing the good times helps to keep the bad times from getting out of hand.

I heard you have to accept what you cannot control. I guess what I would do differently is not allow myself to get so panicky and upset and try to hope for the best and not think the worst, but with me thats easier said than done. I am having some physical symptoms today as a matter a fact and trying not to think the worst, I was up coughing all night and some wheezing? I went out over the weekend more than I think I have for months! I went to my friends house down the street to give her a birthday card, then I went shopping for my sons birthday and out to dinner, so I hope I did NOT pick up some bug or virus {I am still worried about the mosquito bite from last week and that darned dengue fever going around} when ever I get a physcial illness I go down so bad emotionally, and I am fighting this not too happen. I am hoping its just the bad weather we have been having, here is hoping!

Hi Debora,

Hugs is right it sounds like you were asserting yourself. It sounds like you had very valid reasons to be concerned. The anxiety you felt to some degree was normal.  Remember that it is normal to feel anxiety sometimes; when we have a conflict, when we are worried about a loved ones well being, etc.  It is the degree of the anxiety that is the issue.

It sounds like you handled the situation quite well. How do you feel now?  What would you have done differently next time? What would you have done the same?

Thanks Hugs! They are home safe. Normally I would not worry but my husband is on pain killers and very weak from the oral surgery he had ALL his teeth pulled including the absess one of course, he was bleeding a little tonight, I would of liked them to have postposed thier father son night but it turned out well I guess, I just wish I had not worried so much, my heartbeat is still kind of "skippy" and I feel like I am having "lingering" anxiety, does that make sense? Just so thankful they made it home in this bad weather, I could not control this one and had to let it go, I just wish this funky hearbeat would stop, the stress is over but its still lingering, is that strange?

Debora,
It sounds like you're asserting yourself!  Good for you.

Maybe your son was not just celebrating his birthday, but allowed himself permission since it sounds like your hubbie pulled through the operation.

Notice that your post was labelled "Conflict causing bad symptoms".

As we get older and wiser, we'll learn it's our "responses" which cause the symptoms...but who's perfect

My son and I had a terrible terrible argument today and is caused me bad symptoms, right now my heart is racing, pain in the chest and arm pain and bad shakiness, I am trying to tell myself "its not a heart attack Deb its just anxiety" but its hard.

My husband had oral surgery today which I was nervous about, it seemed to go alright, he is bleeding a little and weak and in pain but trying to manage. My son made plans to meet friends at a sports pub tonight, a belated birthday dinner, I told him too reschedule it because Dad cannot drive in pain, on pain killers and cannot eat anyway, he will not change his plans, we had a horrible fight, and he is fine and over it and I am having heart attack symptoms, I hardly ever fight with my son and it was a bad one! I dont want my husband driving in his condition, and it is raining here which is making the roads sloppy wet and dangerous, I do not drive, my husband does not want our son to be disapointed, and neither do I but this is dangerous but they are going and I am a wreck! I am SO afraid of a car accident for them, and my symptoms are scaring me too.

I cannot talk them out of it, so I am going to TRY to relax, take my pill do some box breathing and hope for the best, its such a bad night to go out with the surgery and storms, I am not going to be able to go, I went out Saturday with them already, I have to calm myself before I have an attack! Thanks for listening I am sorry to vent, I am just so darned nervous and scared!
