Hi Cinere, If you wanna be sincere, then smoking is evil like you say. Not as simple as that i know! I'm very recently stopping, but I appreciate the need for a way to relax. My way for years, was to relax with a smoke. I'm not sure if I know how to replace it at the moment, but for me I need to do something. I've been re-decorating some of the rooms the last few days, which has help a lot. I would encourage doing something, anything! I don't think it matters what it is to be honest. Something to take the mind away........ Hi Cincere Welcome and love the positive attitude. That's the way to go!! I never realised how much I must of stunk when I use to smoke (sounds quite nice to say that "use to smoke")now I notice how other smokers around me stink! I use to think that I needed a smoke to relax but found out it frustrated me more coz I could never find my damn lighter. To relax try closing your eyes for a few minutes and dream about all the lovely money you are saving and what you are going to spend it on. Oh it is alright to say never, for example it can get used in these ways; 1. I will NEVER rob a bank. 2. I will NEVER kill anyone. 3. I will NEVER cheat on my husband. 4 I will NEVER EVER smoke again. Keep up the quit, be positive and defeat the nicodemon!! It's so good to be on the other side. Life without wanting to light up for ALL things...ALL the time. How great it will be to hardly ever want a cigarette again. Benefits : 1) No more god-awful taste in your mouth. 2) To walk into a room and know that you are not repulsive to others. 3) To enjoy a movie without missing any because there are no commercial breaks. 4) mmmm! That smell. I've never noticed that before. (except when I was quit smoking before). The list goes on and on. It's hard to believe that for most of us, it's taken years to begin accepting the truth. Cigarettes are evil. I am starting day 5 and its so good to be quit again. I lost a 4 year quit over a year ago and quit for 2 1/2 months in Jan. 5 days in June and finally my last quit date forever, Sept. 3 /2006. (oops, I forgot, I said that I would never say never again). Except I think that this is part of the self talk. I must have my mind set to never smoke again. I know.... 1 day at a time. It has not been too bad so far. I have taken distraction to new heights though. This I recognize is good in tne beginning but when blah week hits,(this is when all my house cleaning is done) I have to find some way to relax. This was my greatest hurdle in my previous quits. Having a smoke was my way of sitting down, away from the kids and relaxing. Stay strong everyone. :) Cincere My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 130 Amount Saved: $50.48 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 10 Seconds: 9
