The Power of the Positive

Savvy - you are so right. I need to see all the positive posts and the funny ones too so I realize that there is life after withdrawal. It helps to know that other people are going through the same things and to know that others have gone through them and survived. This is an awesome room full of great people! Hi All......:) One of the things which has really struck me in my very short time here @ The Stop Smoking Centre is the incredible level of positivity. It is truely inspiring to read the posts of those who are further down the track with their quits. Their strength and wisdom is awesome. I have just come through what many of you call 'hell week' and now into what one person referred to as 'heck week' and I am now starting to feel my positivity lifting. I put this down in a big way to the sheer positivity of many of the longer term quitters here. I would just like to say to those 'veterans' of the quit who so generously support and encourage people like me, what you do REALLY matters. You contributions have been critical in helping me to not only focus on what I have to do but your words are giving me so much hope of succeeding and beating this addiction. I read the quit meter of someone who has not smoked thousands of cigarettes and gained years in life and saved thousands $'s. I WANT TO BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE TOO.......:) I now look at my quit meter and love to watch the milestones grow. Thanks heaps Savvvy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 178 Amount Saved: $64 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 58 Seconds: 8

I felt the same way when I was in the first month of my quit too. Thank goodness we have folks leading the way and extending a hand. We all just keep helping each other ... one at time. I love how we are spreading the Quit! It is a beautiful thing & we are all a part of it. Hi Savvvy or should I say G'day!!! It's hard sometimes but we try to keep the place upbeat and positive. Quitting can be difficult for some, what chance if the quit is laden with misery? Happiness and a sense of well-being will always enhance people's chances of being successful and I cannot think of many better things we can do for ourselves than to take actions which will potentially extend our life expectancy. Gee, as successful quitters, we have plenty to be happy about! Good luck with your quit. Penitent d856 President Anti Sturm 'n' Drang Society!!!

Savvvy, We are always here for you in support and with knowledge :) Many members lurk through the site and never post. It is a great joy to see everyone working together to keep quit. We all have it within us, so thanks to you members for the power of positivity :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
