I've been on chantix for over 5 weeks now. Staying smoke free which is really great - but the side effects are difficult to deal with. Doctor yesterday recommended I go down to just 1 mg in the mornings. Skipped my evening pill last night for the first time and I woke up feeling so refreshed, best sleep I've had in weeks, and my cravings are actually more controlled today than they have been recently.
Def. talk to your doctor first before any changes, it's so very different for everyone, but I'm happy with my new plan of attack.

I'm pretty sure there are a few? using Chantix. I'm on it since December 24. The last two days, difficult cravings. Mostly related to work stress I think. I called my doctor and he said I should go to 3 1mg tablets daily for a few days. I did today and it seemed to helped. Anyone else ever been at this dose? I use to smoke 30 cigarettes daily for 30 years and I'm 44.
Thanks.
Marie

Hi Marie- I'm on Chantix also, but have not been advised to go to 3 tablets a day. Maybe that would be a good idea for "the really bad days"... I'll try it!! of course, I'll check with my dr first :)
Let me know how it works for you

Freedom: That's interesting. I have not heard of that high a dose. Two a day is the maximum that I took and it worked fine.
My thought is this: If your doctor said to try it and it seems to be helping, then why not? Follow your doctor's advice on this one.
Whatever it takes -- just don't smoke, right?
Keep the faith

Im have been on chantix since dec 17, I am only taking 1 mg a day and it is working for me. I have almost no cravings since i quit on christmas day. I think chantix is awesome.
Try doing some yog breathing when you are stressed.
You breath in deep and slow and let your stomach expand, then breath out slow and compress your stomach in. Consentrate on your breathing and do not think about anything else
