I just returned from a business trip, and I thought I would pass along some of the things I found helped, and ask other occasional business travelers how they coped.
Things I Learned On My Road Trip:
1. Always have plenty of your oral-fixation substitutes stashed in your pockets. You never know what's going to trigger a crave and when you will be able to replenish your supply.
2. Stay at a smoke-free hotel. Not just a smoke-free room, make sure the hotel is 100% smoke free.
3. Stay at a hotel that has an exercise room. Preferably one open 24/7. Nothing like bench presses at 2 a.m. to put the nix on ol' nic.
4. Ditto pool.
5. Make sure your hotel room has internet access, so you can hang out with your SSC peeps instead of a smoky bar.
6. Take smoking clients to the same places you would take your non-smoking clients. This eliminates the temptation and the questions in one fell swoop.
OK, that's the extent of my wisdom. Anyone else?
