Hi Bobbi......about Meridia, yes, it is perscription and I found out about it in the Dr Oz book Diet and You or some such. All his books are excellent and have You in the title. It's not like the old school diet pills that make you nervous and speedy. In fact, in some ways it works like an antidepressant and makes you really feel good. Ask your doctor for more information.
I'm sorry but I joined a gym (and went.....you can't just join), I walked two or three miles five times a week or more, I was really careful what I ate and still gained 20 pounds. There is research that suggests that quitting changes metabolism.
I have back issues so carrying around all that extra weight was hell. I've lost most of it in three months and exercise is easier....I'm now doing pilates, my posture has improved, and my back doesn't hurt so much. It's not just about how you look! I woryy what will happen when I quit taking the meds. We will see.
