Stan, This is an issue for many. Some have taken up a hobby, completed to-do lists around the house or engaged in fun/pleasurable activities. Like you said, you've been smoking for 24 years and unfortunately it will take some time before all the habits you've coupled with smoking undo themselves. Hang in there and keep practicing your new habits! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hey everyone, glad to see you all here. OMT LOL about us both googling, just shows we're never alone somebody is always going through the same thing. I'm 37 and have smoked for 24 years. The last ten years I have smoked 3pcks a day. I'm having a hard time filling in the day since all my smoking was done outside,I had 60 little events everyday. I know this will pass, but what else can you do 60 times a day? I don't know if it is true but read that it takes two weeks to form a new habit. Lets hope Glad to see you all doing so well, Hang in there with the quit!! We're Doing Great!!!!!! Hey guys! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I'm doing good. Today we're having lab meeting but since my talk wasn't completely finished I asked my supervisor to practice on Monday instead. So now I'll have a whole weekend to really finish it up and make it good :). I feel a lot more relieved. But that also means I will be working hard on my talk all weekend. Oh well... as long as I take my breaks and chat with my bf I should have a pretty relaxing one. Dealing with cravings is getting better each day. This evening we'll be having beer after our "friday afternoon talk" so that may become a little challenge. But I think I'm prepared for it. I'll have only one, max two and enjoy everyone's company inside. That should help keep the urge away. Then drink loads of water and have a nice relaxing dinner at home :) Gooffy I'll be around if you need someone to talk you out of the craves :) Hang on strong MusQuitteers!!! We're all doing great! Let's get ready for week 3!!!! wooooohooooo!! One More Try!! Good to hear from you! Yeah, my wife and I are both hanging on to our quits. This weekend will probably be a little tougher for me as I am going to a bar tomorrow with some friends. My wife will be at Disney with my oldest daughter for soap weekend. I'll actually be going out with our youngest daughter. She'll keep me in line I'm sure. You're doing great to find something else to occupy the craving. We're almost at 2 weeks, and can't give in now. I trust that sprquits and Stan are hanging in too. Goofy, Sprquits, Stan, how are you doing? I'm doing alright, still holding strong to the quit. Oh, and Stan, I had to google 3 Musketeers too because I also didn't know who D'artagnan was. LOL! You learn someting new every day... Work has been really busy for me lately and I am so glad it's Friday! I am in much need of a rest. Yesterday I was so stressed and exhausted by the end of the day. All I wanted was to smoke, plus have a few beers, and maybe eat some greasy french fries and pizza! Oh, and in case you didn't know, I am also trying very hard to stay away from the unhealthy foods and too much beer. Well, when I got home from work, despite my incredible urge to be unhealthy and of course most importantly, to smoke, I went for a run instead. And guess what? It felt great! I escaped a near-slip last night and today I feel that much more proud of myself. Have a great weekend fellow MusQuiteers, and be strong!
